I listen to music and watch TV as a form of escapism, I'm not sure about anyone else. I couldn't stand AHS when they made it political. Also in the Joanne era when Gaga performed 'Come to Mama'. I still do enjoy the song, I think it's great but I then associate it when politics, which I can't stand. I have no stake in this election whatsoever being from the UK but it's still very odd to me that Jennifer Lopez OF ALL PEOPLE, is standing on a podium urging Americans to trust her judgement 💀 “I have no stake in this election being from the UK” babes, that is just…not true lmao

Ladle Ghoulash 16,153
Just now, madmagical6 said: How so? First off, US foreign policy pretty much affects the entire world (Trump has openly discussed dissolving NATO, which would make the UK insanely vulnerable). Secondly, the state of the US economy has a huge impact on the global economy (Trump’s economic policy would likely crash the US economy, sending the global markets into a tailspin). Thirdly, there’s just the downstream effect of US political culture: the rise of Trump in 2016 lead to the rise and empowerment of the global far right, which would be significantly emboldened by a second Trump term.
PartySick 144,731
What's at stake in this election: - "Pride" being deemed as ****ographic propaganda at the federal level - Openly LGBTQ people facing registration as sex offenders - The criminalization of care for trans people, young or adult - The potential revoking of equal marriage rights - Women being chased across state lines for having abortions - Doctors facing life imprisonment for providing medical care - Women who have dangerous miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, or pregnancy malformations dying while doctors stand around powerless - Clinics that provide critical reproductive healthcare to women AND MEN being shut down missing cancers, STDs, defects, diseases, etc - Contraception and IVF bans - A reinstatement of the family separation policy at the border which caused 300,000 children to STILL be separated from their families as of right now - The US national guard, military, and police demanding proof of citizenship at any time while raiding US cities and towns - One in every 15 families being torn apart as 1/15 families in the US have at least one member who is undocumented - At least 4 million children who are American citizens being deported 'cause one or both of their parents are undocumented - Detention/concentration camps where as many as 20 million immigrants will be held, untold thousands will die - A global trade war causing an enormous spike in poverty and political instability in every nation - A capitulation to the most violent dictators like Putin and Netanyahu - Ukraine's loss - Gaza's complete annihilation and annexation by Israel - The invigoration of far right groups across the globe The list goes on and f*cking on. The thought that she may not speak up despite being vocal and even active with most of these causes was truly devastating. I've never been so happy to be wrong 7 1
Ethereal Mess 601
So she’s been completely silent about the atrocities being committed by Israel in Palestine for the past year, and now she is publicly endorsing the same person that not only enabled but continues to legitimize and take part in the genocide, essentially exonerating her. I am at a loss for words. 1

I'm hoping Taylor posts something on Tuesday to remind the half a million people she got registered to actually show up 3
Morphine Prince 101,989
So disappointed that she hates this country and is pushing for Communism. Gaga or not we WILL MAGA!
Ethereal Mess 601
Just now, Ladle Ghoulash said: “Legitimize and take part” and “exonerating” are doing a LOT of heavy lifting here When Kamala prefaces every single response of hers on the matter by saying “we need to get the hostages back” and regurgitating the debunked r*pe claims then yes, she is legitimizing the genocide. Gaga publicly endorsing Kamala despite having been utterly silent on the situation for the past year can only indicate that it doesn’t even matter to her.
