Many of us wanted her to do darker music, and Disease is just that. We can't have it both ways: we can't have unconventional industrial pop, and the audience reception of a traditional, safe pop song. 

It is what it is. She gave us the industrial single we've been wanting for years, she filmed a very minimalistic video for it, the song is doing as well as it could possibly do. 

I can see it going higher if it goes viral on TikTok and kids start vibing with it, but as of now, this is as good as it'll get for a song like "Disease", and we should be ok with it. 

Her making an album with just music that she likes, ignoring all current trends, is a very appealing concept to me. One of the consequences of this, will be lower chart performance, and I'm fine with that. 

You summed this up so nicely, this is what we need to keep in mind with this era moving forward. Authentic music will always win in the end. I don’t need Gaga to be the next Taylor swift , I need Gaga to make exciting amazing music like she has always done. Music that pushes boundaries and that sounds nothing like what. “Trendy” people are making. That kind of music will always be not for everyone and that’s how I like it lol.

To everyone complaining about the chart positions, did Marry The Night, G.U.Y., etc. leave your playlists after not charting higher? The only thing that matters is your enjoyment of the song. And another top 20 single to add to Gaga’s repertoire is a win in my eyes!

Thanks God I’m not obsessed with it or I’d be having a mental breakdown 

Dont forget gaga was pretty good at debuting strong on single sales on itunes. Her new singles always went to either #1 or at the very least like top 3

 

But now digital sales have largely died and have less impact and its all about streaming. She does ok on streaming debut but not as strongly as she did with digital sales
