Until Bloodpop got his hands on the production and they changed the whole era. The real LG7 is still guarded and we will never know it. WhiteHotForever 314
It probably just fit the moment at the end of TCB and will be a track on the album
RoadToLouis 105
By that point the label could’ve had a different choice for the 1st single, maybe. Or DITS felt like a better representation of LG7 as a whole and it was too early to start teasing the lead single. Who knows, really. I’m sure it was a conscious choice, but these things tend to change as the album gets closer and closer.
MadArchitect 581
For the fans lol, i mean for months fans were begging for a taste of LG7 and now you question why would she do that? she didn't tease them as her next single, surely at the time they havent decided yet and she didnt know which song would end up being the lead, as she has said before she makes all the music, and then the label picks which one to use to promote and kickstart the roll out

Like, i understand if it's not mindblowing it would be a let down, but i'd expect everyone to come at it not being the song we were given. I thought about that immediately on first chords lol same here. i personally think disease wasnt to be the lead single OR, this era feels like they wont us to focus on singles instead in the album concept kindest regards
Controversiaga 9,391
I really feel like there might’ve been a change and the album got pushed back for AFTER joker and maybe when they teased lg7 at the end of chromatica the original plan was to have the album out before joker Then maybe they started to get suspicious joker was gonna be THE BIGGEST FLOP MOVIE OF THE DECADE so they figured they’d cushion the fall with LG7 coming after joker to move Gaga on and away from the doomed project either that or they just wanted a really really strong way to drive up views for chromatica ball video so they figured they’d put a random teaser at the end and didn’t really know yet where dance in the shadow sits for LG7 Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”
Sneaky Oliver 21,339
I think they didn’t want spoil the lead single, DITS is probably one of the highlights on the album

Her and her team need to stop teasing things that’ll never see the light of day otherwise this fandom will never let go of it. As someone who thinks this fanbase complains to much, I 100% agree with this! It would be one thing if one of the songs played when Gaga randomly showed up outside a hotel in Paris isn’t on the album, but if Gaga includes a song in her concert film it better be released. Regardless, I feel like a few things have happened since the film that may have prompted the change in plans: 1) It feels plausible that the lead was changed after DWAS. Gaga is are having one commercially successful GP song, so go with a song that will resonate with fans to kick off the new era and then hook the GP in with the second single. 2) Alternatively, this could follow the Joanne and Chromatica pattern of the “bigger hit” being the second single. Maybe they picked Disease as the lead bc of the MV concept and it feeling more like “Classic Gaga,” and once we have “full Gaga” back in the minds of the GP they’ll push for a hit with the second single? 3) We might have heard the LG7 title track (keep in mind we don’t know what part of the song was used for TCB film). 4) If Gaga’s team was worried about Joker blowback, they may have wanted to kickstart the era with fans and the GP at different times, letting us have something now and giving them something in January, with a 3rd single in February before the album. Regardless, Dance in the Shadow definitely gives a more commercial/generic vibe. Disease have a catchy chorus but the verse might not resonate with the GP.
