WTFFF!? I love horror movies, and the video creeped me out! It was hard to watch at times, in the best way possible! But I, of course, watched it again, immediately! CreepyGa is definitely back! I hope she keeps this theme threoughout the era, I love it! Thank you, Gaga!

There are probably some references from her previous eras, but I look more into it like her mental struggle and it’s evident. Not necessarily about her career and how was she comfortable during some part of it or not. The scene with the chains with the background demon version of her personality watching her struggle portrayed as an inner saboteur is just brilliant. The way she gives in to the pain and her „mental disease” by hugging it later, hoping it would be alright, trying to accept it/the vices, but eventually trying to get out. And it goes on and on and on, on a daily basis. Also the setting as much as it is a homage to early horror movies, it is also a great portrayal of how bright everything around you can be, but inside it’s just a nightmare only you know of. And nobody can help you beside yourself. We could also see the manic episodes in this during the scene she wakes up on the car for example.

It hits even harder, cause I can see all of the resemblances of mental disorder that I also experienced.

And the messiness of it all, it’s all over the place, it’s ugly, brutal, not glamorous. But so is your struggle. I really appreciate in Gaga that she’s not scared of touching such a thing in her music or videos.

Also, that pause in the middle with the new song we can barely here, takes place as a zombie like Gaga walks into the road, maybe being seen by this Witch for the first time. ( Song being played seems sort of like a Red and Blue/The Fame Era track. And that is when the Black Witch strikes. Literally. And she is consumed.

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE IT!

The song itself is one of her top 3 leads, if not the best of them and I am not exaggerating. I could never expect anything to top ARTPOP as a project for me, but this may change soon. Also, is there any chance that FOR ONCE nobody complains here?! We’ve been FED AND TURNED MORBIDLY OBESE THESE PAST FEW MONTHS. She’s giving us the weird artistic Gar after MORE than a decade in the most proper way, visuals scream eccentric and full of symbolism and y’all complain about it not having a choreo à la Telephone or sth?! The Black Witch seems to be a combination of every gaga era based on the outfit. (Chroma nails, Joanne hat, ARTPOP flannel, BTW face prop / leather)

Almost. She isn't a combination.

 

She is the core being. The Demon. The Source.

 

At the end when the Witch sashays away, she has analogue headphone jacks in her dress trail.

 

This figure is the Music. And she is desperate and desires to be heard.

The Witch in the car is not the same as the Witch outside of the car. One is blonde, the other black haired.

I feel like you’re being very very very literal here lol. I think the video, broadly, is a symbolic representation of the chaos of how all of these dissonant parts of her interact. I view the “Witch Doctor” Gaga as kind of a sadistic puppet master, trying to control the others (hence the torture for her entertainment in that basement scene) and the final Gaga we see as one that desires harmony and integration (hence the genuine empathy and compassion she shows the puppet master Gaga before rebelling against her). Ultimately, I think the video is up for interpretation (which I think is half the fun), but I get it if that’s not really your bag.

It is not really a jewelry. Its just the thing they use with the wig cap to tuck it all in. But yeah a very exquisite way of using it. Definitely intentional to look like a head piece.

I think that's a continuation of the car crash story, not a flashback because Gaga's nose is already bleeding. So 1) Witch/FameGa hits brunette Gaga. 2) Brunette runs away while chasing ARTPOPGa. 3) She notices that Witch/FameGa is stalking her and tries to run away.
