Choreographers often take on creative director roles for projects that don't actually involve choreographed dancing, so I wonder if that is what Parris did for the Disease MV. For example, Ritchy "choreographed" Jazz & Piano even though there's no actual choreography in it.

Parris probably helped choreograph the fight sequences and the crawling/backwalking scene at the very least

That’s an incredibly simplistic way of looking at what the video is presenting.

Do you only engage with these things on a purely surface visual level? Are you not at all interested in considering the themes and ideas that the video is conveying? This is such a densely packed video with so much going on and to boil it down to these little basic visual motifs seems to just be blatantly ignoring all of it.

Think about it, why the pre-chorus has loud backing vocals. It's literally her dark side mimic-ing her in the video.

ARTPOP Gaga is the one that got hit because that was the 'derailment' moment. Joanne Gaga pulls ARTPOP gaga off the car both because they're fighting (crazy vs. relatable) and also as a memory to Gaga's gram ("don't be so maudlin.")

TF/TFM are twins and are fighting. One is literally on the back of another, but the other is bound to the ceiling, so they both project attempts, but also futile, attempts at liberation. BTW Gaga bears witness to this to this 'dance' (remember the BTW MV manifesto: "But she wondered / How can I protect something so perfect without evil?").

Chromati-Ga gets vomited out, likely in reference to Gaga's own comments about dancing through pain. I think the claustrophobia bits are nods to Covid/Covid-era.

When all is said and done, BTW Gaga is the only one remaining, now 'purged' of the thing that has been holding her down, and is about to take the world via slayage.

I wonder if the black figure is Fame/Desire (remember how her perfume was black too). She stumbles upon young brunette Stefanie by accidentally hitting her with the car, this is why the video begins like that, it is the big bang point in her life. From then on stalks her. I do not think Gaga would present BTW as her purest form, purged and distilled. She said she's beginning a new chapter, a new era from now on. 

Edit: And for that reason ARTPOP Gaga ("music not the bling") tries to dislodge her from the car's hood, from the obsession with fame (her first two albums). However, there's BTW missing in this take.

I find it very interesting that at the beginning Gaga was probably hit and a lot of cars were passing by, and no one would help or even care about it (the whole video has all these crazy things happening and Gaga being chased and screaming for help and no one is helping her). For me is also a representation of the mind, just look how at the end, the houses (security, normality) try to crush her, maybe this is also about her mind or some exterior forces trying to lock her up on something. Very conceptual and interesting video

I know everyone’s dogging on it for not having choreo but am I the only one who thinks a choreo scene with dancers would’ve actually… taken away from the video? I think the cinematography.. art direction.. what have you.. speaks for itself and imo a random choreo scene (especially one that a lot of people here wanted) would’ve probably made the video seem silly

The acting was so unnerving that I was genuinely uncomfortable watching it the first time. She really is that bitch.
