ChromaticaGUY 137
Idk if it’s already been said or if I’m completely reaching. But the final scene with the walls closing in. The only time they ever open back up a bit is when she’s dancing. When she is resisting, they close in on her, almost suffocating her. Idk, I just feel like it has to mean something. 6

I could watch an entire movie based around that. I literally can’t stop watching. Plus a major win……I showed the video/ song to my Dad (who is a typical stereotype of someone his age) and his first words were “oh wow I like this”. My family have said the same thing! They said it's her best video!

It was like she had some kind of disease, something that only someone playing a doctor could cure. If only she were a sinner, they could convince her to believe, lay her down with a slow '1, 2, 3,' and watch as her eyes healed, rolling back in ecstasy. Watching that scene, I could almost smell the sickness. The eyes are the sign of death or blindness. Crossfit

For me I feel on top of the world and like I’m amazing and it’s drawn me to some very reckless places and behaviour and on the other side there’s the come down where it takes a lot just to survive, they have their uses though and it’s a learning process to be able to get used to these things once you finally understand why they happen. This sounds difficult. I wish you all the best in this process ❤️
Arcanum 4,848
I have watched the MV about 20 times trying to figure it out cause I am a big sucker for metaphors. So far I think the first Gaga (on the car's front) is the bruised, young and naive girl who has searched for the fame. Inside the car, is the Fame Gaga. The Fame Gaga seemingly bumped her (an allegory of her sudden burst to fame?). Unapproachable, distant and dissonant (maybe this represents the dark side of Fame as well as the Addiction). This Gaga seemed like a monster (aka Fame Monster). However, despite her grotesque appearance, the front car Gaga after regaining consciousness, tried to reach out for her. The other one who drags her away from the car is her self sabotage b*tch, who tries to fight her. She, indeed, carries her away because in the end the first Gaga starts chasing her. So, away from the Fame/Addiction Gaga, she gets tormented. Her other self tries to keep her down until she gets up and embraces the role and becomes one with it. This time the original Gaga gets out on the road again. However, instead of chasing her Fame/Addiction self, she runs away from it. The car starts chasing her (Notice how at first she didn't give a flying s*** after she bumped her and now she stalks slowly). The Fame/Addiction self starts to reveal herself. She is much too powerful from Gaga and she has assembled many of her facial features. It's too late. She spits out the black tar and through it a new reborn Gaga. At first, the spitGa finds comfort into the Fame/AddictionGa. When she reveals herself and she realizes they are the same (only the eye is distinguished), she tried to leave again. This time around there is no way out. When she dances she breathes. When she runs away the walls crush on her. At the end she succumbs and once again is devoured by the FameGa. She walks away vibrantly and heads back to the car. She has claimed the last part that tried to escape. They are one. However, she is in charge. While brunette-and-lightly-blonde SpitGa dances on the ground the hair seems to turn pitch black. Realistically of course it's the surrounding shadows from the houses which make the hair appear thus, but that's the power of art and ambiguity

It's been theorized walls are an interpretation of fans/public pressuring her to work and entertain. It's sort of a 'Gimme More' moment

poeticprose 238
I love how you people can see things in a linear way. I watch and just try to absorb it as symbols. There are both narratives and symbolism in the video tbh. BlindGa is a moment. The black monster Gaga is crazy. It's not just some freaky fashion thing, she really looks scary. No other popstar would do that. I just love how the song has a different meaning now. It's not about saving someone else, it's her saving herself and not being afraid of that shadow part of you. Very Jung. Lol

asfittingasmcqueen 1,871
I just love how everyone is trying to come up with their own interpretation of the MV. It’s nice to see her fans being collectively excited about it and sharing their thoughts on the visuals 3 1

Dosman93 38
I think I changed my mind on this video, at first it kinda felt underwhelming.. I think because there were rumours about big choreo and a Sarah Paulson feature. THAT aside, the video is perfectly campy, old school horror creepy and really outlines how different eras effected her and how she's learned to accept all those parts of her.... Or maybe she only accepted btw gaga and wanted the rest dead 😂
