LittleMonster20 9,731
I’m immediately obsessed with this, one of her best videos! At first I was conflicted on the colorful, suburban background, but now I realize it’s probably a direct juxtaposition between a symbolization of normalcy and a peaceful environment opposed to an inescapable darkness that comes with untreated mental illness. It’s brilliant. Edited October 30 by LittleMonster20 1
NewUsername 10,998
I love it! Now I've got some analysis planned by thinking myself and reading all of your comments. It's clear Gaga and her team put a lot of work and thought in this! Ngl, I thought the TV and that colour scheme was going to be in the MV, but nevertheless I still love it. Also envisioned a whole choreo with dancers in front of the car, on a big parking lot/freeway, but the emphasis on the story telling may indeed be a better choice here. It's interesting and satisfying how you never know what to expect with Gaga and at the same time it being everything you want and also love it! Government 71
3 hours ago, just another gay said: I want to know whats the reason of choosing a random street set in broad day light... overall it is a nice video, but some part feels empty and flat because of the set The broad day light and the suburb is what makes it more unnerving I guess, just like in some horror movies. If you had to deal with that demonic presence would it be less terrifying because of the sun? Watch movies like Midsommar and The Wicker Man. Even It Follows and Hereditary have some scenes of supernatural stuff happening during the day. I think it makes it feels more real, like the supernatural is really happening in front of you. Putting dark stuff in a dark set is viewed as “basic” these days I guess. 1 1

I love how the MV opens with a birds eye view and the suburb looks idyllic and nothing out of ordinary. But beneath the layer of light, clashing with our expectations, there's all this dark pandemonium taking place. The contrast is uncanny and brilliant!

Reez 443
the video is not what I was expecting (I expected some brutal choreo during the chorus), but she is not here to do things as we imagine them with that said, the video is fckng awesome, I actually love that it's so bright, the contrast between daylight and horror is so satisfying to me.. also the outfits, her facial expressions, makeup, everything. I'm so grateful for this video. thank you Gaga, I will always love you Edited October 30 by Reez
faysalaaa 2,936
I havent enjoyed anything Gaga in a very long time, this is the best thing she released since ARTPOP!! For the first time im excited for a new era. While the video made the song 100x better, I still dont like the song or lyrics, and I hate all her songs about curing someone. But I like the direction of the music and imagery. Edited October 30 by faysalaaa 1
