OrL 35 Posted October 30 Share Posted October 30 Wow, this is what I expected for, in an unexpected presentation! so that’s how I see it: well, just like Gaga explained in her ig story about the song meaning- there is this black haired injured Gaga (beautiful shots and great flattering angles), the “killer” in the car that ultimately exposed as blonde & black hair Gaga - the whole Gaga, than the blonde ARTPOP Gaga fights the black haired Gaga, than some more parts of Gaga fighting each other, until the last minute in which everything becomes faster- the whole Gaga gives birth to a blonde/grey-teal one, than starts to suck her life and her hair becomes darker… than that part of the whole Gaga starts to run from her… and sometimes the walls closing on that part of her that’s ran, or sometimes she owns the space. at the end of the day, the whole Gaga wins every time. The message is clear, the execution is amazing, it’s so refined. Powerful like MTN but not too long, better filming and great movement visuals, like with the walls or in that “dungeon”. So we see Gaga as beautiful, “ugly”, arty, funny, acting and dancing and moving vividly, we get storyline, themed, Halloween coded, well done and campy set- all in the video… it’s a great start for the era in my opinion 🖤 there are so much more references in the video I didnt even mention, it’s so complex and Gaga and fresh, love it 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The one inside the car doing the pursuit is blonde (the one revealing her face with the BTW jewels that sb mentioned). The one outside, vomiting and hugging ChromatiGaga and then singing has straight long black hair. What say you? She’s passionate, there is a freaking snippet omg Gaga you’re the BEST and I Love You! She delivered performance and looks throughout the video. the stripper-ish scene OMG I LIVE FOR HER cinematography looks insane. make up and effects also. it’s definitely the lead visual material and I LOVE her for it. it’s very coherent to her language and aesthetic going for almost 2 decades into her career. she’s a legend. I see the GP supporting but I’m definitely not worried about it. PLUS was that a LG7 snippet? OMG if she never release it people will not let this woman live. it sounds like all sorts of a TF/M BOP sound but so muffled you can’t even hear. but I LOVE IT. Meaning a look doesn’t necessarily represent one only era, except if it’s in a specific context in one of the scenes, but depending on what she does, she goes more TFM or more ARTPOP etc. She’s the same person after all. The Fame Monster: the Gaga driving the car. She’s the one who has the lead, she’s in control of the game, she’s the powerful one, she’s wearing a long leather coat (like on TFM cover), sometimes with black hair, sometimes with blonde hair (both TFM covers) ARTPOP/Fame perfume: the light brown hair with the shirt reminds me of *that* street look she had in 2013, she attacks the other Gaga (ambitions) and then feels threatened (reception) and runs for her life but more importantly, the black vomit (Swine perf, black eau de parfum). 2012-2013 is one long horror story of her life. Joanne: the car and the moving walls might be a direct references to the JWT interludes Chromatica: when she lays down during the bridge, her hair/makeup are extremely TCB-coded and she’s begging TFM/ARTPOPGa for strength I didn’t notice any potential direct nod to The Fame and Born This Way yet, I’ll keep on watching it. PopReaper 2,222 Posted October 30 Share Posted October 30 (edited) I wonder if the scene where there's a Gaga handcuffed to a pole dancing on top of herself is meant to symbolize the general downward spiral on her mental and physical wellbeing back in 2013 in the sense that the handcuffed Gaga on top represents Lady Gaga the product, being worked 'til exhaustion (not out of her own will but to satisfy the voyeuristic needs of the obscure figure watching from the other side of the glass), at the cost of Gaga the human being's health (which eventually backfires as represented by the second Gaga snapping and choking the one who was dominating her at the end of the scene).
