It is unhinged, chaotic and confusing like ours minds are when we battle inner demons. There's also a lot of subliminal imagery - like being tied up and stepping on yourself basically just symbolises how we do that to ourselves mentally when we are in a bad place. The last bits are about facing your demons with courage and embracing it but then running away again because maybe you weren't ready - much like the how life keeps you in a loop of making you face and run away from your fears over and over again. I'm actually happy there's no big choreo, and there's a lot of layers instead. Moonlight on Water 13,767 Posted October 30 Share Posted October 30 im gonna have to give this MV a long hard carl jungian analysis so clearly the blonde gaga is from her ARTPOP era, but i don't know what to think about that except that to her it's the most distraction-centric version of herself, where when she instantly realizes her placement, she wants to find a distraction. i wonder if the first gaga on the car hood is the concept of the Self (the shadow and the ego integrated to create the true persona of a human being), which would make sense with the shadow confronting the self and technically integrating with the self (the car being the journey to induce such an integration) but the ones from the chains seem to be the fame and the fame monster? and how her shadow self (the dark gaga) is watching them fight to shine? that's pretty much the ego and the different sides of the ego coming out. so my guess is those two gagas are the fame monster and the fame, the top one being the fame monster most likely because it has more dominance, but i guess you could see it in either way depending on how her success is seen, whether it's the good or the dark side to it when the shadow stops to control the self, the self can only do the same but like a deer in headlights. she's obviously trying to confront the source of her problems by running away from the integration. idk how to perceive the turmoil with the leaf blowing and all lol, but i think the last one is either joanne or chromatica, unless chromatica is the dark version of gaga? but i think joanne is the one with the wet combed hair because of the walls closing in on her, which references the walls closing in interlude from JWT. there are also two distinctions from the shadow gaga, one has blonde hair, the other has dark hair. one could be chromatica and the other the current one, but idk. i just had to get that off my chest cause oh my gosh she's playing into so many jungian concepts and i geek out over that stuff. i love this so much she/her 9 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Is the song sung by all her fears/monsters/negativities trying to seduce her into giving in by promising they will cure her?
