How would we have made it if that weren't there? -10 below is CRAY!

It's not that hard to follow that simple and clear rule. If Gaga's and the venue's teams decide that it should be like that, then just do it like that. If it becomes harder for them, then they'll have to change their plans... Otherwise, this is just unfair for those who can't camp.

Me and Nick went to the Holiday Inn lobby for like 40 minutes then that room where those elevators were next to the skywalk for like 20. I'm glad that they let us into the Rivercentre lobby, even though we couldn't sit down I did anyway. On 2/9/2013 at 6:37 AM, heavymlover said: It's not that hard to follow that simple and clear rule. I get that, it's just that no one will be able to change that at this point in the tour. And like Haus said, the person who gets the key should be the one who has shown the most dedication, not the one who happened to get lucky.

But in my opinion, things could be handled differently. In a certain way it's Gaga's team fault, because they could've made a more reasonable strategy for everyone. I'm sure they could have changed the policy for something better and less ''dangerous'' for everyone. But people make it seem like those who can't camp are not as dedicated fans as those who can stay there for a whole week. I'm not judging those who camp though, I appreciate their dedication, but I'd rather have a butthurt because they disagree with the key owner than any sort of tragedy for someone camping during a week under such low temperatures. LAMB 0
For the most part I agree. Hey, if you can camp than good for you but I think it does cause some sense of urgentcy among fans when we hear there is someone camping out a week in advanced. But really that the thing about the Pit, if you want a great view of Gaga and a chance of being in the section closest to Gaga at a cheap ass ticket price, then youre going to have to work for it somewhat. And seriously, if Gaga actually did do meet and greets, there would be WAAAYYYY more complaints about how it isnt fair that you have to pay to meet her. Fans are always going to find something to be mad about if they dont have a chance to meet Gaga. Btw, I dont think Gaga's team is unhappy with camping. If they didnt think it wasnt fair, they wouldnt have honored the key holder at all the past shows. They would have let the venue give it to whoever managed to rush to the doors at 8am. And some of yall need to quit being so nasty about this thread. Ive seen alot of dumber threads posted on GD everyday, like seriously. At least its a legit complaint, unlike the 50 threads complaining about a minor detail of something that Gaga has done.

Well to be fair, I don't think GaGa's team anticipated people to be camping for multiple weeks just to get the key. Obviously GaGa's fanbase is dedicated but that's a bit of an extreme. Like Kayla said, there isn't really any 100% fair way to do it. I personally think paying for meet and greets is the best way to do it but that's because I can afford it. I know that others can't. Maybe if GaGa's team didn't start selling meet and greet packages until a few months after they announced them so everyone could save up, that'd be better. At least then people wouldn't be stressing about camping to be first.

One thing a fan camping out for the Saint Paul BTWB pointed out was that could you IMAGINE what it would be like if they strictly enforced the 8am rule? It'd be a MAD RUSH for that number one spot, which would be very dangerous. (and you could even argue that it wouldn't be fair to fans with physical disabilities who might want to go for the key but wouldn't have the chance when put up against fast fans, and you could also argue that if that were the case it'd be easy for some very casual fan to get the key when there are fans who probably deserve it more ) I understand the argument of how camping is unfair, because not everyone's lives allow them to take the time to do such a thing and it doesn't mean they're any less dedicated than the people camping out for days or weeks at a time, but the alternative has just as many negative consequences. Meet and greets only allow the fans who can afford it to get it, pulling people on stage only allows the fans who can get Gaga's attention to get it, the Pit Key only allows people with the ability to camp out to get it. When it comes to finding ways to meet someone in as high demand as Gaga, there's no 100% FAIR way to do it, unfortunately. A well balanced response brought to you by the bird genius, Kayla. Call no man happy until he is dead. -Solon, Herodotus's Histories

I think your post indicates something very important, and it's the fact that people see the option that is most accessible to them as the "most fair" option. This is also indicated by the fact that most, if not all, the people complaining about camping not being fair are people who don't have the means to camp. The only fair option is one that allows all fans the same chance of being picked. Gaga would literally have to put the name of EVERY fan in a giant bowl and just pick them out randomly. (But then there'd be people saying it's not fair because the place where their name was dropped before they were stirred around affected where it was when she put her hand in and decreased their chances of winning.... )
