I do think the roll out is weird, but someone brought up that interview where one of the Interscope executives talked about working with Atlantic and DWAS, and his big thing was they wanted longevity for their artists instead of front loading songs and albums.

So that might be what Interscope (and her team) is going for here...because she clearly does have a music video on hand. I'm curious if she'll perform on Monday somewhere, too.

IDK, at the end of the day I like the music, and Gaga has talked about this being a creatively fulfilling time for herself, so I'm just excited for good music.

They are clearly aiming for longevity here. They’re waiting to play their cards right to maintain it on the chart. The debut might not be high but at least it’ll be on the chart longer.

I learned that monthly listeners are just people that clicked on a song once, not the actual followers. So they could all listen to DWAS once this month and have no idea Disease even exists, whereas followers actually get notified of new releases.

Agreed. They said Chromatica had the best promotion schedule ever, considering this era was cancelled because of covid, I thought/hoped that LG7 would be the era having huge promotion but so far nothing is happening

Monthly listeners is just the number of people who have been streaming her within a given month, but that doesn't mean all of those people are seeking her out directly, especially not new music. Her songs playing from playlists, people just randomly wanting to listen to Bad Romance, etc will count toward that number. That number doesn't mean she's got 108 million people every month consistently tuning in to listen to her catalogue.

Cause it still means 105 million people listened to a Lady Gaga song the past month. It's a more fluctating metric, that's why pop accounts use it a lot as it really measures singers current popularity. Followers are more stable, as they don't really go down when a singer doesn't release new music in a while.
