Some of the criticism he received being lead producer was a lot around the production with several songs sounding the same or feeling unpolished or as strong compared to say Born This Way or even ARTPOP. Many fans were disappointed with his approach in making 1000 Doves a dance song, Free Woman sounding less finished than the Demo, and don't get me started on the Babylon controversy.
