I also woke up in Europe (I stayed up until 2 hours before premiere at around 5 in the morning) but went to sleep and expecting a music video...

I'm streaming nonstop also because I wish she gets high in the charts. I don't care but it would be great, alongside Die with a Smile honestly. We are far away from album release, like 4 months still... So I hope this single hits as hard at possible in the charts, to stay as long as it can. Will the hype survive 4 months?

So after reading a lot of comments now:

A theory on where the MV is could be: that they actually think of the MV as a PR move, so they are hoping that it will shoot high in the charts "alone" as streaming - and then premiere the video when it is needed. I mean, at some point they will release it anyway - but maybe they are waiting for the single to get close to nr 1 first. Maybe thats why also they are waiting with SoMe promo by the relative silence we are experiencing now.

Maybe they truly want this to be number 1. On DWAS we know it was a joint venture between 2 big artists, 2 different big labels and it was a global campaign. Which is why the global success has been more effective than in the US alone. Top 1 Global compared to top 4 US.

Maybe the hype of DWAS and Harlequin streams (even if they are low) makes the difference she previously did not have when premiering lead singles like Perfect Illusion and Stupid Love. My personal taste opinion is also that Disease is her strongest lead single since Born This Way or The Fame Monster to start a new era. Maybe that's why they are chilling out releasing the MV - trying something different. It's risky. I prefer to get the MV now (for the fans) but I hope their strategy works for Gaga, and not against Gaga. I know she does not care about the charts, but she deserves it.

Extra off-topic comment:

I believe also the album was coming this month but things got changed because Harlequin idea became a late reality, something that was not in the original plan. Maybe that's why we don't have physical copies or can order the single now. But then again they should had it ready by now? Hmm... Maybe it was not possible to produce now, as they used the production slot for Harlequin instead - and have to wait until closer to February? Idk. This part is confusing.

I feel if Disease had a MV release it'd be more impactful as the song legit needs visuals to have that solid impact on the very first listen .. 

I hope we get a MV asap !

I do dig the mystery feeling of it though.

HOWEVER IT MAKES ONE THINK AND SPECULATE HARD.

Like what if this is a just a lead single to a surprise album drop. I mean, Disease and the other snippets we’ve heard is very alternative or more experimental and industrial sounds to it, not gp friendly ( tbh idc about charts I dig the music). Also that video of gaga dancing and saying she’s fantasising about dropping all her music at ones… Maybe it will be a gift to the fans with a surprise drop album, a more experimental album and then another one that the label will push more, a more commercial pop one... What if there is a compromise between her and the label…. ALSO that her Fiance has credits on Disease?!?! It seems so suspicious…..
