The promo images being discovered out in the wild rather than being spoonfed via her Instagram is honestly exciting. Let everyone eat the song up and the hype spread by word of mouth, and then strike again with the video when people are clamouring for it. And, to be fair, release day is the one time youāre guaranteed the internet will do the heavy lifting for you. BUT I feel like the last 24 hours have been a lucid dream... Why is gaga silent? Even Andrew Watt and the others involved in the song aren't sharing anything on instagram? Why are you teasing the mv with an snippet so that in the end.. the video doesn't come out the same day as the song? Why does the shop remain in Harlequin mode, why no physical support for disease? I'm a bit confused ????????Ā I feel like it's Christmas but half the presents are missing... LOVEDRUG 10,182 Posted October 25, 2024 Share Posted October 25, 2024 i am slightly baffled by her silence. releasing your song's video separately made sense when the primary way that people consumed their music was through the radio and physical media, as they weren't going to consume both the song and video through the same medium, and you could make an event out of the premier of the music video of a song people were already hearing. but in the age of digital streaming, anyone who's interested in watching the video is likely to go looking for it as soon as they hear/learn about the single. there's every possibility these people won't go looking for it days later, as they would've moved on to something else, and don't have the radio to constantly remind them of newer music that they may not otherwise keep up with. i've already mentioned the possibility of a music video to a friend of mine who's a casual fan and she literally said, "oh i looked when i checked out the song this morning and assumed there wasn't going to be one". it's the same reason why most artists don't release post-album release music videos these days. last.fm/user/ashfairfield 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
