South Korea says North Korea shipped special forces troops to Russia

North Korea has shipped 1,500 special forces troops to Russia's far east for training and acclimatizing at local military bases and will likely be deployed for combat in the war in Ukraine, South Korea's spy agency said on Friday. Anonymous sources telling South Korean media the final figure could be closer to 12,000.

South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) also said it had been working with Ukrainian intelligence service and had used facial recognition artificial intelligence technology to identify North Korean officers in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region supporting Russian forces firing North Korean missiles.

but still, the country lives under an authoritarian regime, and they're pretty lgbtphobic, so, I couldn't care less.

A small portion of them were in certain sections of the country.

(North) Korea has been historically invaded by Japan and China and is surrounded by three (former) imperial powers. Its nuclear weapons guarantee its independence and prevent it from being attacked like Vietnam and Grenada was attacked by the US. We see what happens to countries who do not have them. They become prey.

There are though many human rights violations there and no freedom of speech, so I am not defending NK.

If Ukraine had not given up its nuclear weapons (nw), it would have not been attacked by Russia. In some way, Ukraine was betrayed by the UK and the US because the UK & US pressured the Ukraine into giving up its 1000+ nuclear weapons.

 

I think Poland should watch and think of the future.

Poland was attacked by Germany and Russia, several times. Poland should develop nuclear weapons on its own. If it does not, Poland will become prey again.
