I think Marvel Unlimited was actually free for a month, or something like that, during X-Men '97s release. Or they had special codes for certain arcs, to be read for free, I think it was actually that. They were old titles, but classics, like Phoenix Saga, etc. No idea if the deal is still going, but I guess they do stuff like that regularly. I think all the infinity unlimited are free I could play the moderator, I can ban you, die sis. 1

I love how powerful it is and how evil it is. I want to see it battling Thanos! Actually the story behind the "entity" is interesting (as in: actually misogynistic ). The entity was never supposed to exist. The writer at the time wanted to change her name to Phoenix and "awaken her secret powers", but an editor at Marvel Comics, said that a female character could not be as strong as Thor . So the writer created the cosmic entity to bypass his ban. He still made her super powerful, but it wasn't her, it was "the entity" . The editor still hated the idea, and demanded she was turned evil, to make up for it. That's how the "Dark Phoenix" concept came up to be. It was basically Marvel editorial refusing to allow a female hero being portrayed as strong. Eventually the editor demanded for her to be killed, and that's where the whole trend of "Jean always dies" started . But that was decades ago. Marvel now allows her to be the cosmic HBIC she was always meant to be . And on her solo comic, she becomes Phoenix without turning evil. We, gay Marvel fans, are currently campaining for the company to update her costume, and give her the outfit that Lucas Werneck designed for her: It serving COSMIC CVNT, and it's what we truly deserve HEART OF EVER-FROST

So far I think they show it as genderless correct? It would be amazing if they slightly tweeked it that it was a female entity that possessed her all this time to kinda course correct the mysogyny they did to her! also i love this design u shared! tho i love the ribbon instead on the hip: this look is so kunt to me I also love the classic jean helmet but i know its not aesthetically pretty but i just love it for some reason

Several X-Men girlies got solo comics this year. Jean Grey: Storm: Rogue: Psylocke: Mystique: Dazzler: THE GAYS ARE EATING . Phoenix and Storm are getting the most push by the company, I think both could show up in the MCU soon. Storm could appear in the Secret Wars film, and Jean Grey is RUMORED to debut on Scarlet Witch solo movie 👀 HEART OF EVER-FROST

It would be amazing if they slightly tweeked it that it was a female entity that possessed her all this time to kinda course correct the mysogyny they did to her! I think the entity is now implied to be feminine. Because funnily enough, although Marvel editorial was against the idea of giving Jean powers equal to, or above, Thor, they were not against the idea of giving Thor Jean's powers and lore . A Marvel writer tried to push the narrative that Thor is Phoenix' son. Meaning: if Thor's father is Odin, the Phoenix could only be his mother. The idea was not revisited though. And I hope it gets retconned. I will NOT support any male character, specially not Thor, get Jean's powers, absolutely not . So the Phoenix, appears to be, a feminine force, as of today. And the Phoenix comic is currently written by a woman, I have faith she will correct the wrongdoings done to her as a character. This video explains the whole Phoenix drama in full detail: It's long, but it really shows how much companies opposed to the idea of giving women any sort of agency in comics. Even one of the actual artists working on the X-Men at the time, said that he was "in love" with Jean Grey, but hated the idea of her being too powerful, and preferred when she was mostly eye-candy and only occasionally useful. And he actively campaigned to kill her off the books because: "She made the rest of the team seem useless". It's crazy because nobody would ever say that about Superman in Justice League, and he was never killed off for decades, because he made "the rest look bad". It has always been ok for Superman to be absurdly stronger than everyone else, but for Jean Grey to occupy that space, was unacceptable, how interesting . I think this new comic is Marvel's way to correct its past mistakes, hopefully. HEART OF EVER-FROST
