selenalavigne 1,433
I’m excited for LG7 because when you have at least 7 albums the rankings start to get interesting. Ready to Stan LG7
Mr Oak 6,979
Hoping the lead single is NEON LIGHTS WILL RISE ABOVE THE NOISE, the absolute Christmas banger. There's no reason for her to release a Halloween song in the last week of October. It's definitely a Christmas hymn
Gaga Scholar 42
I noticed last night that my local Ace Hardware store already has its Christmas wreaths, lights, and garland hung up on the exterior of their building for all to see. Worse than seeing Christmas decorations on Valentine's Day, IMO. No matter what, we can count on enjoying Christmas decorations for the releases of both the LG7 lead in October and the album in February. Five months of Christmas. At least the pre-album era will be perfectly bookended, LOL. Time is a lie! Edited October 15 by Gaga Scholar "The truth is..." --L. chathonnete 408
I don't find it strange that people think it might be a halloween song when the three official songs we know about are Dancing in the shadow of the moon, Abracadabra and Notourious Being. Also she teased many dark emojis such as bats, black heart, demons. I don't think fans mean a REAL halloween song, but LG7 being in the same field as songs such as Bloody Mary, Heavy Metal Lover, Gouvernment Hooker or Mary The Night don't seem impossible.
StrawberryBlond 13,975
Releasing a "spooky" song around Halloween time (or at any time, really) did wonders for Disturbia, Somebody's Watching Me, Thriller and many more. Those songs are a few of many that are played at every Halloween party, on dancing reality shows or Halloween themed musical performances. Put out a successful spooky sounding song and you've got guaranteed airplay, rotation and relevancy every Halloween season, just like when you make a successful Christmas song. Songs can cash in on any occasion if you market them right. And are we forgetting what just happened last year for Gaga? Bloody Mary took off in a big way all because Wednesday Addams danced on a tv show in a way that looked as if she was dancing to this song, it wasn't even what she was actually dancing to! Its official audio started gaining crazy views and likes and it re-gained relevancy when Halloween came around, the professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing did a group routine to it and it's now Gaga's most viewed audio video with over 131 million views and 1.6 million likes. This was never an official single, never had a music video or any promotional performances. It looks like it's now a Halloween staple which will ensure this song never dies or is just a hidden gem for fans. Being Halloween themed is not cringey or tacky in itself. Artists usually release "darker" tunes at this time of year anyway, to appeal to people's change of mood to match the season. Gaga won't take the tacky route, when has she ever? She'll be talented and elegant as always. And people will move on to Christmas songs afterwards, regardless of what type of song it is.
