Bit dramatic - stage lifts like this are left open all the time (especially during breaks in the set like this) while the stage crew move various set pieces into place/dancers prepare to go on for the next number like this. 

The issue was that because it was a break in the set the lighting was low/non-existent where Olivia wasn't at the time and she was running across the stage looking at the crowd not where she was moving.
