U make it sound so easy but i can see reasons why they arent banking on this supposed "easy profit"

That's why I love that the Harlequin vinyls include posters cause where I live wheatpastes are not common and Harlequin wasn't promoted at all anyway.

Yeah, it's likely significantly more cost efficient to pay the company (likely Wild Posting) that hangs these for a few weeks placement as a media awareness tactic (it's dirt cheap) than to distribute these as merch.

It's a fine line between preserving something that was about to be trashed anyway
