Well the movie sucks and I still love Gaga

does that make my opinion wrong? Ok

Nope! Not at all. I’m glad you watched it and decided for yourself!

My point is completely different. It’s about the unnecessary drama, mean comments, disrespectful affirmations and worries about Gaga’s career.

We are negative people. We live in the Shadows of the night and practice the art of darkness

Very few people on here have a true appreciation for art — they can’t even be bothered to educate themselves. This has been an on-going issue here for over a decade.

Just look at the way some fans TRASH her love for Jazz on here — the true enemy to her career are the “fans” that disrespect and attack everything she does.

This! You imagine you’ll find other passionate fans in a fan-site, but instead you find a bunch of little haters that disguise their hate by labeling it as “opinion”. Some “fans” just don’t deserve Gaga.

i think they meant they don't have to like it but there's no reason to constantly trash it... there's a select few users here who continue to bitch and moan about her doing movies and jazz instead of pop music cus they still haven't gotten the memo that there's more to Gaga than just pop

mother, what must i do?

Yaaaas Gaga

Completely agree with all of your points. It never ceases to amaze me how many people live their own lives through the celebrity they support and seem to take any criticism so personally. Like, get over it and move on with your lives. There are far worse things going on in the world right now than the reaction to JFAD.

Bottom line is the move is polarising, which we knew it would be as soon as the musical elements were announced. Gaga is receiving praise for her participation in the film, which is a positive, and we've got new music from Gaga to look forward to in the coming weeks. Given the radio silence from Gaga following the Chromatica Ball, i'm just glad to have some new projects of hers to get into and to see her seem so genuinely happy with Michael.

Stop worrying about Gaga’s career after this movie

This!!!!! I think people were traumatized during the ARTPOP era, but careers aren’t as black and white as people on social media think they are. There’s ups and downs and peaks and valleys, but Gaga’s cemented her name in history. Some things will smash, others won’t, and that’s ok, let’s just sit back and enjoy it right??

Look at someone like Elton John, he’s had SO MANY albums and projects absolutely fail in addition to his numerous successes. Albums hardly anyone’s heard of, singles that failed to perform, but in his 70s he just concluded his farewell tour which went down at the time as the highest grossing tour in history. It’s not about constant success and constantly topping yourself, talent will endure.

oh yeah in that case take it back. i dont care for the jazz so i just stay out of the threads. i don't care if its 'art' or if its a classic. i'm sure there is some content in there i'm missing out on but most of what i've heard i didn't care for.

it is stupid to dedicate time and energy to something u don't enjoy lmao. give ur review and move on.

Thank you. Exactly what I meant. You can have taste and appreciation — understand the joy it brings Gaga — but not enjoy it personally.

Hydrangea

Joker: floppy a doodoo bombing and being awful hasn’t got anything to do with Gaga. She’s been pretty much universally praised for what little they let her do and complained about the writing and story which let’s be real, sucks. It’s fine to call a bad spade a bad spade

And for those saying her character is underused: she literally moves the plot forward, every time it stalls. She is the manipulating bish in this movie, making use of someone with mental problems

Exactly.  Every person, including Gaga, has the right to like what they like.  Gaga has a history in jazz.  She has said she has been singing jazz before pop.  When she was 14 or 15 she won a jazz competition.  Her love for jazz is no surprise.

I live outside the space time continuum.

What bothers me the most about the whole thing that's happening with this film its how people started turning their backs on Todd Philips, calling him a hack and a bad director the moment he didn't gave the audience what they wanted. The movie is so well shot, so well acted and scripted... Todd clearly knew what he wanted to do, but its the creative risks he took what bothers most people, who don't know how to differentiate a genuinely bad movie from a movie they didn't like.

Also, i think people's inability to admit something just isn't their cup of tea is what's truly damaging this movie's reputation. You have people left and right calling this film the worst thing in existence when that's just not true. It's an overexaggeration... like, i get people might disagree with the choices they made, but acting like the film is the worst sequel ever made and to root for its failure its a bit too much. Then, they complain when we get souless corporate crap made by commitee and wonder why Hollywood isn't trying anymore to do anything bold, risky, artistic or audacious.

Erm… He is a terrible director. He hasn’t made a single great movie. In fact, he is literally known for making mainstream drivel. The first Joker film was criticized plenty by critics, justifiably, and it aged poorly. In the last year or two, more and more people changed their mind about it.

This movie isn’t some underground independent artpiece. It’s a corporate product that didn’t meet its creative intentions. Fun that you liked it but there’s no way you can convincingly claim that the script and directing is objectively good. By what standard? Other Hollywood films? Todd’s biggest success: The Hangover?

It’s absolutely unfair to suggest that when people don’t like this Hollywood failure, they don’t get cinema or whatever lmfao. Go to a film festival and see for yourself what real creative directors do. Todd does not deserve any artistic respect. You’re only saying this because Gaga is involved.

RAMROD

Todd need to go back making R rated comedy. The Hangover trilogy are awesome and entertaining.
