I hope Texas Hold ‘Em and Levii’s Jeans win nothing. THE is ****ing awful , and Levii’s Jeans is the worst of the potential bunch lol also is she literally insane not to submit American Requiiem for anything? It’s the best song on the album and one of her best songs ever. Crazy. Also I really hope she doesn’t get AOTY. Brat deserves it over anything else this year

Honestly it’s a shame bc there’s a really good album in there but she sat with it too long and added too much. If she had kept it like Renaissance with 16ish tracks it would be great. Also the track listing is kinda ass as a result of that.

my choice songs to make this a good album (not favs or not favs but what would make a cohesive album):

- 16 carriages

- protector

- texas hold em

- bodyguard

- daughter

- spaghetti

- alligator tears

- ii most wanted

- Levi’s jeans

- ya ya + oh louisiana 

- desert eagle

- ii hands ii heaven

- sweet honey buckin

but I also think an unsung part of renaissance’s success is her creative director is literally a dj like IN nightlife actively. He knew exactly how to help usher renny along and I think she could have used some other country or folk writers to amplify CC. I think the “genres are confining and you can be anything” was a bad ethos for the album bc it made for a bit of a muddled sonic palette

brat sounds like actual static and has two likeable songs that are literally the same with different lyrics

I listened to Brat for nearly 10 hours last month and still don't know what she's saying in 90% of the songs because they're so overproduced. Let's not push that issue off on the listener when really it's an issue of mumbling, autotune, and instrumentals. I like the album (hence the listening time) but not being able to hear the lyrics isn't an issue of hearing.

are the well-written songs in the room with us? The album was vapid nonsense about going to the airport, the airport, the airport, the airport.
