JFAD will boost LG7 era (Positivity Thread)

ALRIGHT LISTEN UP!  

Now that it's an established public consensus that JFAD (the movie - NOT Harlequin the album) is cataclysmic flop that will be studied for centuries by Little Monster historians worldwide, I think it's time to flip the script (like Todd Phillips should've) and focus on the positives because we have so much good going right now despite it all. 

1) I believe the criticism will light a FIRE under Gaga for LG7. Gaga is super resilient and I believe she will take the box office drama in stride; however, we do know Gaga pays attention to the feedback she gets on her projects, especially in the acting world. Therefore, I think she will have extra motivation for a return-to-form in the pop world, which has been cooking up for a LONG time anyway. And as we all know, vast majority of JFAD criticism is directed at the concept/direction of the film rather than Gaga's individual contribution, which I think was fantastic, and I think we all agree she deserved more out of this - most critics have even noted this in their reviews. 

2) Gaga is currently at #5 on the Hot 100 with DWAS. The streaming algorithms are hot and ready for a new single. Additionally, we have had old Gaga songs (Bloody Mary, Judas, etc.) have been going viral on TikTok the past two years with tons of pent up demand for PopGa to be back. I think the GP will move on quickly from JFAD once there's some exciting new music to get into and this movie era will just become another quick flash in the pan. We may get some flack later in the year (Razzies here we come ) but honestly who fkn cares.

3) Harlequin is an absolutely beautiful album  that will be a highlight in her musical legacy; to many of us, that's more important than her filmography. And revisiting the album this morning, it's almost like Gaga was subtly alluding to being aware of how divisive this movie era might be...

Oh I totally agree with this too, creativity comes first over everything! Though I really think that both fans and GP will be slayed by LG7 based on what we’ve heard so far. And if GP is here for it we get more performances, get to hear it when we’re out in public, etc.

Right. I have a feeling LG7 might be too dancey or experimental for the charts, and idgaf anymore. I just want her to deliver her most creative music for the fans. And from what we heard from the snippets, I think we're about to receive that!

Honestly, this movie just made me more excited for LG7-it’ll be good to get some new content from her. And I don’t think the poor reception the film is getting will affect the public’s perception of LG7. A lot of critics that disliked the movie said she was the highlight, and regardless, LG7 is a completely separate project that will be viewed separately from this. In their eyes, she’s just an artist moving on to the next thing. And with how anticipated LG7 is, a controversial movie isn’t going to stand it it’s way.

I honestly think JFAD won’t have any real damage to her image, no one is blaming her for the flop, in fact, everyone is praising her

Honestly JFAD not doing well isn’t going to reflect on her or impact her career at all. All actors have flop films in their careers, as long as their acting isn’t the reason then it’s fine. No one is criticizing her and she did the job she needed to do, and did it very well. Regardless I’m SO ready for the LG7 era.

Yes exactly! Like if everyone else loves it then great and that’s a nice bonus, if my brother or grandma loves it then that’s great love that for them, otherwise let her stay true to herself and deliver amazing music we all love from her

love this positivity and I really agree with you. Gaga' career has been built on the back of allowing herself to fail and just getting up again because thats life.mp3

Shes smart and passionate and I think someday she'll hopefully speak openly about joker and discuss it not being what she envisioned.

It's for bad acting, critics mostly agree that her acting is good but she's underused.
