I was wondering if some sort of autotune was used as well…

y’all are truly sick in the head if you think Gaga of ALL PEOPLE is lipsyncing or uses auto tune for a LIVE PEROFRMANCE. y’all so out of touch and miserable omfg

Loved it. She looked very TFM era. Although I think there was some pitch correction used.

the performance was prerecorded and it's obvious in many instances that it was pitch corrected. still a good performance but i wish i could hear the imperfections

It's not that serious if they did a few touch-ups. The Chromatica Ball film also had some of it.

I loved this performance, but was anyone else a little put off by whatever pitch correction was used? Some of the transitions between notes and attacks on notes sounded really artificial, and having her pitch adjusted to be impossibly perfect (i.e. literally impossible to achieve) doesn't work with the broken/raw aesthetic or with the moments where she's a little off rhythmically (which I love, btw).

(Sorry for nitpicking - I genuinely adored this performance, and her tone/support was insane, but I just prefer it when we get to hear *her*, flaws and all!)

Yeah, her vocals were autotuned  :franminervini: I loved the whole performance tho.  It's not the first time she has used autotune in a live performance, but for this song autotune (or whatever pitch correction program) takes the rawness out of her voice :franminervini:

This definitely rivals her voice in 2015 as top tier. Amazing how she continues to set the bar higher and higher so deep into her career, it makes me emotional.

I'm not saying that Gaga wanted it - these things are often beyond the artists' control, and even if she did, there's nothing wrong. Gaga definitely wasn't lipsyncing, and she has never needed autotune, but there are some bits where there is obvious software intervention (for example, the vibrato on the "on" in the second "the show must go on" when she goes up an octave is physically impossible to achieve; I can go into details as to why it is impossible if you are interested).

I'm sorry if I came across as criticising her - I'm just very sensitive to this sort of thing as a classical musician!

it sometimes seems prerecorded others not, i dont have earpice to listen to it now but the clear out of breath in a part, or breathy part and some sounds gave away. theres some parts in the begining she doesn't seem synced, it's true

Y'all are so weird with the whole autotune/pitch correction thing :triggered:

I didn't hear it at play at all, but even if there was some pitch correction or something, that doesn't take anything away from the performance. It was still incredibly raw, emotional, and powerful. Oh I swear, this Joker/Harlequin era is bringing out some of the most nitpicky criticisms from some of y'all :selena:

just relisten , she's slightly sharp in the chorus in the oooh. even mistake at the end, isn't really in tune. there are many pitchy moments, really small but there are
