I think the advertising was super misleading, and kind of led the audience to expect an entirely different film. It's still worth seeing to see how the story wraps up imo, and the acting is good. Cinematography is also worth it. It's...choppy imo. Some parts were great, some parts were terrible imo. She admires the idea of Joker not Arthur the man and if she would get to know him deeper sooner maybe she would have lost the interest early on... I actually did like the message of the film, but I suspect the message is the main reason a lot of people dislike it lol (and not the editing, which was my issue). I still think Todd is the main reason there were issues with the film, but I appreciate that he at least 'tried' something different when so many comic book films follow a stale routine. MaxPOP 207 Posted October 4 Share Posted October 4 I saw the movie yesterday and I'm sorry but was a huuuge disappointment, her character is paper thin developed and the musical parts add nothing to the story, that is unecessary long and without a clear direction (wants to be a musical, a law court drama, a romance) Not surprised to see that both Gaga and Phoenix apparently didn't like the final cut of the movie.
