The Equality Act passed the house and the Senate & was signed into law by President Biden.

They didn’t have the votes to remove the filibuster.

Are you sure you're not thinking of the executive orders he's passed?

Because multiple google searches for Equality Act US, Equality Act Biden & Biden Passes Equality Act bring up multiple sources that all say the same thing I did. That the Equality Act is gathering dust in committee and that Biden has repeatedly said he would sign it if passed. Even looked at the HRC website which has a timeline of Biden's actions on equality and its not there. The only WH press statements are about him telling Congress to speed it up or about Exec Orders.

Genuinely if it has happened I'll be very happy to be wrong, but I can't find any evidence.

It's interesting given how I've seen her live this Monday and she was on the top of her game! But she talks a lot about listening to her body and while the approach is different, maybe that's just how she is. Sorry for the people who had tickets tho! As a side note, my show has been rescheduled twice before it finally happened:oops:

A WHOLE lot can change within the space of a few days so let's not jump to conclusions based on some assumptions about her mental health which might u add we don't truly know the ins and outs of.

So lemme get this straight, we can only critize celebrities that don't post about mental health? And if we do GGD is a hateful place. Well then that makes it OK to critize KP like y'all been doing since forever, right? The misogyny card only gets to be used when it comes to your favorite artists lmao.

Patiently waiting for miss Katy to post about the anxiety and depression y'all haters gave her ever since Witness and Smile to justify her actions lately like y'all are doing with miss hate-fame anti-grammy vote-gray Chapperón tbh :icant:

Can we stop with this nonsense? Katy WILLINGLY worked with a RAPIST that raped Kesha, hurt many other female artists and sent Gaga into mental breakdown during the trial. Katy’s fans then wrote millions of insulting, misogynistic and even transphobic tweets making fun of Kesha’s and Gaga’s sexual assault. Katy never told them to stop it. If there are people who should care more about the mental health of others, it’s clearly not us Little Monsters.

That link specifically states you're wrong.

Per the site:

Latest Action: House - 06/21/2023 Referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committees on Education and the Workforce, Financial Services, House Administration, and Oversight and Accountability, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

https://thehill.com/homenews/lgbtq/4486033-equality-act-backers-undeterred-lack-progress-years-later/

This article is from Feb 2024 and states the law still hasn't been passed.

Everything on your source refers to the bill being sent to a House Committee in 2023 and nothing more.

Please just hang it up and move on. Nobody but the Katy stans are gonna agree with your point. Depression and anxiety aren't going to justify working with a r-word. This is pathetic.

"Less worse than Trump" sounds exactly like the point Chappell has been making, no? There are criticisms of both sides? As in neither will be good?

Still not enough to justify the hate on a pop star :smh: When people critize Chappell for her political ignorance they're misogynistic and on a "hate train", but Katy's a woman also. Such hypocrisy because you love one pop star and the other one made Roar #1 and y'all still can't let go of that so you celebrate every single "flop" of hers. Y'all are quick to bring Gaga into this when trying to defend the undefendable. That's what's truly pathetic.

What people are criticising is people responding to a post by someone stating their mental health is shot and they are taking time off with comments calling them a dumb ass, an idiot, talking about how much they hate the artist etc

If people want to discuss Chappells political views they are welcome to in response to her posts on politics. Calling her abusive names and slagging her off in response to her saying she's mentall ill is absolutely something fueled by hatred.

If Katy put a post out today pulling out of some event due to mental health I'd go against anyone who attacked her in response. And I'm someone who has been heavily critical of her in this era.

The fact you are trying to defend people being abusive about someone in response to them being open and honest about struggling with their mental health speaks volumes.

I can't believe anyone is defending her political statements here. She wants to weigh in but not give an endorsement to the only real option in this election? What?

She has to "hold her nose" and vote for Harris when Donald Trump supports silencing and criminalizing the LGBTQ+ community, banning trans people from all walks of life and dropping nuclear weapons on Palestine? Not to mention the havoc his actions have already caused for the LGBTQ+ community, women, immigrants and people of color in this country.

She should be ashamed of herself. Not everybody has the amount of privilege she does to take such nuanced, selfish and ignorant stances. She deserves the criticism and ridicule and any of you fools defending her here should do better.

She claimed the left’s views are transphobic in her Tik Tok.

"I'm not gonna settle for the options that are in front of me"

Is she on Donald Trump's payroll? Convincing an influential artist with a fanbase of mostly young people to dampen their enthusiasm for his opponent would be a genius political move from him.

If she isn't taking cash from Trump then she's doing his work for free. She's a fool either way.

I don't think a single person disagrees on this, I don't understand your point. Roan is being criticized for how she's saying things and handling her comments, not necessarily because she's wrong on some of the things she's saying.

I believe there was some back and forth along those lines the other day when discussing her refusal to endorse Kamala and I planned to quote you so we would have a reference but it seems that thread was taken down so just disregard please.

Please lmao. Women don't automatically get a pass simply because they're women. That's not been the case for any marginalized minority or group that's been oppressed. Being a woman does not automatically give you a free pass to do whatever you want. On one hand we have a woman who literally just stood up for herself on a red carpet and got hate for it. On the other hand we have a woman who was directly involved in the legal case of a rapist and then attempted to give him the biggest platform he's had since his legal proceedings, in the guise of women empowerment. Then went on and thanked him at every turn. If you're equivocating the two and unable to see how different they are, you're just delusional. And like I've said before and you have conveniently ignored: Katy was shown a lot of enthusiasm on here during Smile and before anyone found out she was working with Luke. This has absolutely nothing to do with Applause and everything to do with Katy being an out of touch grifter and sell out.

Has the Democratic party not silenced and criminalized the gay community?

I remember but not all the details. But I personally think you don’t need to agree on everything a politician says or does to endorse, but that’s a personal choice.
