A woman in the spotlight who is very open about their mental health difficulties pulls out of an event to focus on their personal health.

And what does this site do? Line up to talk about all the reasons they dislike her and call her names.

Some of y'all would have been part of the vultures circling around Britney in 2007/8 and yet were on this site recently preaching #FreeBritney and shaming anyone who ever did the exact **** you're doing.

Hell, even profesional people will get the job done, and only then cry about it out of respect for the army of people who work with you too. I think thats what pisses me off. Its a fully personal opinion, but I have NEVER been sympathetic toward the “taking a mental health day” type of people. There’s moments where you gotta work, and then there’s moments where you can regulate yourself. There’s people counting on you, you are a wealthy pop star with resources to get the help needed to make this sustainable without missing work, use that damn privilege to your favor instead of crying all the long day and cancelling shows left and right.

This sounds like a YOU problem for me :bear: how can you be so loud and angry about a random pop girl you don't even know :wtf: alexa play "toxic" by britney spears

Please :toofunny: not trying to be rude but this is so surface level and stupid  how can you even bring this "everyone has problems" narrative to this scenario

Well, to me being overwhelmed is a collective thing everyone experiences and we all happen to be going through something on different levels. She’s allowed to be in pain as we all, but if you read what I wrote after that, what I feel is that she doesn't really want to get better and just limits herself to running away, when theres countless of people on different contexts that probably experience the same type of feelings as she and we are all forced by our life circumstances to go through with them.  We all feel like that at some point. Its is directly our own dispositions to beat it, or cry about it. And theres nothing wrong with crying about it, but dont JUST cry about it. Cry about it and then try

And if something tragic happens they'll be the first to talk about how important mental health support is.

Its not a problem, im not mad per say. My life goes on whatever she decides to do. This is just my personal opinion and the way my mind work in regards to the trickiness of balancing mental health and a job. Im a very career inclined person and i chose to believe being happy has some level of conscious choice of not letting certain feelings control your development. Not everyone has to be

get a grip :bear: you are not on the spotlight as a popstar and you feeling overwhelmed is so unrelated to this thread it amazes me that you even bring that up  also, what if she really doesn't want to get bigger? why is that YOUR problem?

Also "We all feel like that at some point" please.... talk about delusion :toofunny: she is in front of the whole world and you think that's a universal experience  honestly, get a grip

andy not trying to be rude at all, but if you think your way of balancing your own mental health and job could be applied to a popstar, you're being so incredibly delusional and it shows :toofunny: I hope you are beyonce in disguise and this all comes from experience, cause if not I can't even believe this is real

Also, don't even quote me but she DID make a point about Kamala being the better option in this election, but not really a great option either  she's just not the horrible one

It's a good call. If she's not in the right headspace for this level of exposure, it is the smart thing to do to remove herself from situations that could be detrimental to her wellbeing.

I will always rather musicians do this, instead of overworking themselves into a really dark place, developing substance dependance to cope with the pressure, or worst case scenario, have a tragic ending. If she's not ok, then she's not ok, and it is the right thing to do to prioritize herself :applause:

Aglaya, lets just agree to disagree ok?

I don’t feel like neither of us can truly extrapolate and determine for sure or not if my way or your way to handle any given situation/job would work 1:1 on someone else, as mental health is pretty tailored to every one of us.

I do agree any famous person has tougher cards handed than any regular person. I also think that no one has to necessarily be a pop star to ever hit rock bottom and feel in a similar way, and that regardless of the amount of any given pressure, everyone will experience overwhelmness (yes, some more than others), but that to get better you have to push through, and that act of pushing through is human collective experience.

For what is worth, I appreciate that Chappell is putting her foot down and setting up her boundaries. I hope she finds a team that can help her navigate through this and help her wellbeing turn into actual actions that allow her to be at peace.
