Kimmo 81,159
Typically, songs from major musicians launch with what often turns out to be their biggest consumption figures. Interest in the latest from a superstar usually arrives with plenty of built-in anticipation, as well as traditional promotion. It's common these days for tracks to launch with sizable sales and streaming sums, and then for those numbers to begin to dwindle as radio airplay takes over and keeps songs alive–or not. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' new collaboration isn't a normal smash, though. Their "Die with a Smile" is proving to be not only a huge hit, but the kind that breaks with tradition and continuously improves. "Die with a Smile" rules both of Billboard's worldwide rankings–the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. US–once again this week. The tune has now dominated the tallies for four consecutive frames, and it's only getting bigger and bigger as time passes. Billboard reports that the song sold another 9,000 copies globally in the past tracking frame, but it seems to be streams that are keeping the track at No. 1. "Die with a Smile" racked up another 117.4 million plays on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music all around the planet in the past tracking period. That's a huge number for any cut–especially one that has already been out in the world for a month now. "Die with a Smile" has been improving its streaming figure each week it's been on the two global rankings. The single launched with 75.2 million plays. That means the cut's streaming count has surged 56% in a northerly direction in just a few frames. In its second turn on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US, "Die with a Smile" earned 97.2 million streams. That number grew to 105.8 million in its third frame on the lists. In week four, it managed 111.4 million. Now, it's gained by another six million plays to hit a new all-time high. - "Die with a Smile" has lived on the pair of worldwide charts for five weeks, spending four of them on top. At the rate it's still being played and purchased, Mars and Gaga's tune could easily continue to run the show for another few stints. The song brought both superstars to the summit for the first time on the lists that were introduced in 2020. Link Hottie Detector
