I'm not gonna force myself to enjoy a project I didn't like like I did with Cheek to Cheek and Joanne. So, how may of you are forcing to like the album just because it's Gaga? This is one of the dumbest things I’ve read on this site. Congratulations on that achievement. 5 2 3

Morphine Prince 103,620
The album is old Pop, jazz, showtunes, gospel to me. The whole it’s “not Pop” comment is triggering me. Love that Gaga even called it “vintage Pop” 1 3

Happy Mistake is godly but too slow of a song for GP. The Joker is too all over the place for the GP, the growls, the broadway style of interpretation and everything… Happy Mistake is the best option among her new original material for her team to push. It is the first song in the A-list pop playlist on Apple Music.

Okay, lets be real, this was probaby A LOT of monsters reactions when they clicked play after being teased with nothing to suggest that it would be very jazz, only to be greeted by a Jazz standard I was a bit salty when I clicked play and heard Good morning at 6:20 am on my way to work after having in my mind that we're getting a The Joker style album and I went to stream Lights Camera Action by Kylie haha (and after having the best time with the song I was in the mood enough to be like okay lets give it a gooooo!) And to be totally objective your reaction is valid, I think after 2 jazz projects and almost more Jazz shows than pop shows in the last 5ish years, especially in the Chromatica era when she didn't do any performances for the album outside the VMAs, but having no problem doing jazz in Vegas, its okay to be a bit done with her covering jazz songs. Like call me a bad fan or whatever, but I will die on my hill with the opinion that it's a waste of her talents, when she could be writing her own original jazz/pop/rock/country/r&b/whatever genre songs. On the other hand I respect her choices, yea its her artistry, yea she loves jazz and is insanely good at it and I will buy/stream her music when it comes out, but I won't say I adore it just cause I love Gaga. It doesn't matter who does it, I just don't like covers :P

Reality 73,795
It's so asinine to me that this is the fanbase that will be like "Gaga's amazing! She's not like other singers! She's so versatile and that's what makes her a true artist and performer," but then in the same breath say "I don't want her to do anything other than electronic/dance pop"—even though 5/6 of her solo albums cover that genre already. At this point, if you're a fan of Gaga only because of her electronic/dance pop music you're not a fan. You love the idea of who you want Gaga to be. I'm not saying you have to be in love with everything she does, but she's at a point in her career where she's clearly doing more than just electronic/dance pop. Expecting her to stick to just one thing is the antithesis of who Gaga is. She even explains it in recent interviews. Harlequin is about breaking genres and doing whatever she wants whenever she wants. Some of y'all need to get that through your heads before complaining that she's doing stuff that isn't 100% tailored to your tastes. Nite 5,151
It's so interesting how Folie à Deux starts off with very soft, sweet vocals and then grows more unhinged as it goes on 1
Red 95,733
Honestly the discourse around Gaga not releasing pop is just so tiring that it became just ambient noise to me. Gaga released Chromatica, a pop record, and people still complained it wasn’t pop enough for them. Just ignore them, they are not mad at Gaga, they are mad cause of their lives and just want to complain. If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.
