well i mean her life would be in danger; someone breaking into Kamala’s home of all places, probably has sinister intentions. and she has security 24/7 sooo they probably would shoot.

The only thing that matters is that Harris wins the election, because if she doesn't, Trump does. Is what she said more likely to win her some votes or lose her some votes ? I think it's more likely to win her some votes, so I'm glad she said it.

The weird thing for me was that she said that almost immediately after a young girl and her mother had a mental breakdown bc they were school shooting victims and reported their experiences. It felt incredibly insensitive and cringey to me to say something like this as a politician in front of people who have been traumatized by gun violence

She's not saying she'd go out on 5th avenue and shoot someone, she's saying if someone broke in her house to do her or her family harm, she'd defend herself. Just because both situations involve a gun doesn't mean jack.

If I can’t be safe in my own home then you’re getting a surprise :dom:

In my messy era.

I know, but it was weird to me to joke around and laugh when there were literal victims of gun violence sitting in front of them where the mother of the girl had just demanded change in tears and nearly couldn't be calmed down because there was so much anger. I don't know it seemed incredibly insensitive to me to make a humorous remark at that moment

The level of neurosis in this thread is really something else.

It's interesting really because while any gun availability is just absurd to me as somebody who's not American....I'd sure be grateful to have one if some psycho broke into my home at 3am lmao. It's clever of her to level with the pro gun lobby like that

Availability is not weakness

Absolutely. I’m not personally a gun owner, but she discussed gun ownership in one of the two most common + common sense contexts: self-defense and hunting (neither of which pose any real detriment to American society imo). If folks are spooked by the most innocuous forms of gun ownership, idk what to tell them lmao. But I agree that this is smart posturing as well

I mean she isn't wrong. I don't personally own a gun but my parents do and if someone breaks in my house while I'm here alone and is trying to k!|| me, I'd 🔫. Equal opportunity.

They are not moving to the right, shes actually moving the the left, but they are changing their messaging, and it seems to be working very well

Yes, sure. The woman who endorses a genocide in the Middle East is moving to the left.

Former First Lady of the United States. Now card-carrying member of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Me saying shes moving towards the left doesnt mean I think shes a leftist. She is a corporate establishment Democrat. But shes more left leaning compared to all Democratic presidents, and Walz being a leftist as VP is a bug deal.
