something to learn from 143

this isn't a great comparison bc dr. luke and max martin failing to deliver a katy perry album that interested anyone makes sense, bc they dole out predictable, cookie cutter pop — they're known for sounding the same

red one isn't like that. he could bring a nostalgic but still fresh take on Gaga's writing and music, a la Madonna producer Mirwais, who produced Music & American Life and then came back for Madame X — whichregardless of how you feel about it, is an album with some fresh / interesting sounds / production.

see Gaga has always been smarter than that, how you keep evolving as a person and as an artist is by working with loads of other producers/artists rather than sticking to the same old sh*t with one producer. RedOne and Gaga created something iconic with TF and TFM and some tracks on BTW but there have been other iconic songs since with other producers. Chromatica is one iconic album throughout and think about the producers there. Even ASIB which is such an iconic soundtrack album

I'm not saying that Gaga shouldn't work with producers she's worked with before but genuinely think it stops an artist from evolving. If you look at Katy, Witness with all its hate it gets its a solid album. No Luke. some tracks on smile like NRO, HIW, and a few others are solid. No Luke. Her song with Alesso is fire. 143 is a step back for Katy. In many ways than one

Lucas

I knew from the title that it would be about Gaga working with RedOne again.

The difference here is that any girl could've been Katy Perry singing the Teenage Dream album, while only Gaga could sing TF/TFM. Just like any girl could've sung Nicki's songs with RedOne. Gaga's songs have the Gaga thing and this is what makes her music great, no matter if her songs are being produced by X or by Z.

His work on 143 says otherwise...

tbf RedOne's own songs are really bad, its a regurgitated sample thats so generic and bland.

Not RedOne being dragged through the mud bc Katy and Luke are working together. :laughga:

The main difference you're all forgetting is Gaga is constantly evolving. I believe if they work together they could still repeat the PF and BR success but that's just my opinion.

I get what you mean. His work with Pitbull, and JLo are really dated it's a wonder how he made Bad Romance, Poker Face and Judas.

RedOne made Gypsy and Angel Down with Gaga post TFM… I think y’all are underestimating him and Gaga together. They can make magic.

I’m not excusing his solo work btw. It’s bland and generic 😭 but my point is if Gaga and him work together somehow they can pretty much make a hit…

Also why we shouldn’t want ARTPOP Act II - it would sound tired and dated :koons:

Not a single soul here would reasonably expect any level of commercial success from ARTPOP nor would anyone expect a rollout. It's a fan thing, not LG8.

I wasn't talking about commercial success. I was talking about the sound ("it would sound tired and dated").

hmmm maybe, but i think its about chemistry between two people.

I hope that Gaga and Garibay find some energy to produce whole album. Im in love with his production and i think hes underrated in Gaga music.

I'd just be happy to have it personally. I still listen to ARTPOP.
