27monster27 15,873
https://kamalaharris.com/issues/ After speculation and waiting, Kamala Harris has finally released her policy platform. This release comes one day before the first presidential debate. Every major section of her platform has a direct comparison to Project 2025. She has promised to cut taxes for working families, lower clean energy costs, support veterans etc. She also, controversially, has stated that she will secure the border, fund law enforcement*, still support Israel, etc. The latter policies have generated concerns from progressives. *It does not specify if these are beneficial (better training for mental health issues, training on race issues, etc.), or if these are just general funding boosts. ---- he/him/his
Morphine Prince 109,683
Wonder what the goal post is gonna be now for the MAGA cult on “Kamala has no policies” …. as if they have any real policies.
dit 46,738
I am tire I am still support her because she better than Trumpette BUT I am tire of her blind support of Israel criminal and genocide but it is what it is.
Emvee 8,838
The median American voter gets easily fearmongered about crime and immigrants, so those aren’t really a surprise. Border and law enforcement shouldn’t be a concern to anyone if they have good faith plans to streamline migrant processing and tackling root causes for crime. The problem is if they’re just reflexively running to the right because they’re scared and are basically just copy pasting Trump policies. Let’s be honest, the Biden Admin did a little of that. Israel? I have no ****ing idea. Who at the pentagon is threatening to murder their families in cold blood if they don’t give Israel every single thing they want? She and President Biden are working around the clock to get a hostage deal and a ceasefire deal done." trump isnt even talking about a ceasefire, he knows that his base is pro israel and said if it were up to him he would "let israel finish the job" kamala is the lesser of two evils and i am skeptical she wont actually get a ceasefire done, but that doesnt mean i wont vote and indirectly help trump win CUZ hes not even recognizing the palestinians side on this - hes acting as if israels completely justified in whats happening
Togekiss 3,125
I mean, border security is a basic function of the federal government. What matters is how it’s done. Baskin Robbins

Obviously she is still better than Trump, but this platform release was a bit disappointing in some areas. My main concern is the general reaction from other progressives, as a lot of them are very upset over some of the policies she's outlining. he/him/his

The ceasefire talks are a ruse. The Biden admin has allowed Israel to boycott these talks literally every single time in the last year, and in the most laughably pathetic ways possible. The Democrats have zero interest in holding Israel accountable, they just want to bide their time and let Israel finish what they want to do while trying to look like they are not complete monsters to their voters. And anyone falling for that hoax is honestly being manipulated hardcore. Kamala is probably the lesser of two evils but I think the emphasis should stay on the fact that she is evil. However you vote, you are voting for Israel. Let's be clear about that. In fact, you could argue that Trump's blunt honesty about his disinterest in Palestinians has this one benefit: that the US position is clear and voters and the rest of the world can respond appropriately. This wishy washy endlessly drawn out bs of the Democrats is hurting the cause in a different and more insidious way than people think.
janetjackson 255
Vauge af......imo..... I commend them for trying to keep things as middle of the road as possible but I need more of a vision. The system is not going to fix itself with a new small remedies. It's also less policy and more "this is what I've done."
Roughhouse Dandy 13,614
She's got my vote regardless, but her campaign has been fumbling the bag on nearly everything beyond curating vibes since directly after choosing Walz. Foxyy 345
I'm not sure why the reactions in this thread are so negative, she's got great policies. Pragmatic with a progressive direction. Her presidency will be a continuation of Biden's but even better. She'll get to build on his many successes and course correct on his failures. I really love that she's making housing prices a main concern for her campaign. It's rough out here and that's something that hardly any American politicians talk about unless they're talking about investment opportunities for rich people. She wants a roof over families' heads and I love her for that.

YES i wish kamala was more clear about really wanting to stop whats happening to the palestinian people and im sorry but with her i have a small inkling of hope she will try to stop whats happening. WITH TRUMP THERES NO HOPE - in fact it will most likely be worse if he gets into power. kamala isnt biden, bidens really ****ed up on his handeling of this issue but kamala shouldnt have to bear the blame for bidens mistakes since she isnt the one getting the final say right now
Bronco 25,167
Its like 2 months out from the election, a minimum of a month out from the early ballot drops in States where that is possible and its just crazy to me that people were/are complaining about the policy platform. For comparison - in the recent UK general election, the party manifestos came out roughly 2 weeks into a 6 week campaign. Basically released at most a day or 2 before our early voting provisions started lol And the majority of those policy manifestos were "We will introduce a law on X" with minimal detail. That said, while I think they are playing a sensible campaign for the middle by making the platform essentially a direct opposition piece to the Project 2025 platform because realistically this election is a campaign against everything Trump stands for. I do wish there was more of a vision for her 4 year term, purely because from a campaign perspective it would give her more time once in office to prove herself to voters ahead of the 2028 election cycle. As UK Labour are finding out, running on a "down with this sort of thing" platform means the honeymoon period ends almost instantly in office. The gays know how to party
