Riley 1,327
I've seen some people write their reviews of the show before, and I thought I would do something of the sort because I literally have SO many emotions stemming from last night.. I just have to get them out! It's pretty long too, so sorry! So let's begin with the day leading up to the actual concert... It was fricken freezing and windy and brutal, but the way that she had it set up was pretty genius! There was literally NO lines, which at first was pretty sketchy, but at the end it all worked out... When it got closer to show time everybody started to line up, since monster pit had received their wristbands earlier in the morning.. I had the Government Hooker VIP package, which was supposed to check in at 5:00, but I kid you not: got there at 4:45 and was first in line. There were probably 20 people with the package, which I found to be pretty shocking! Anyways, the gift bags we got with the package were pretty cute! There was a Foam Finger/Monster Claw! I thought that was pretty funny... And once inside, it was really well put together. We were allowed to go to the bathroom before they led us down stairs to the actual floor. We were given numbered wristbands when we checked in and the guy was pretty good at keeping us in ordered line. Once the openers started... Good God, Lady Starlight was UNBEARABLE. Not even exaggerating when I say it was THE WORST thing I had EVER seen in my life! At one point she was literally banging on her synth board, and called it "her new single." Let's just say, I was about in tears by the time she left. Madeon was INCREDIBLE! I was so surprised by this! I had never really heard about him until last night, but his set was so amazing! Me and my sister were jamming for a good 30 minutes! He could've stayed as long as he wanted tbh... She should just let his set take up the time of Starlight's from now on. Okay, then Highway Unicorn started. We were on the fence, front row, right in the middle of the runway outside of the pit! OMG Best 'seats' in the house! She stopped so many times right in front of us, and when I say that she literally made eye contact with me every time she was there, she fricken did. I swear to god I'm being serious when I say that we felt as if she was looking for us every time she came around the runway! There were times when she made eye contact, looked away for a sec, but then looked right back at me! When LoveGame started and she rose up from the stage, I swear to god she sang the entire song to me! We were literally eye fuqqing each other the entire song! LOL I don't want you to think I'm crazy, I am being as honest as I can! lol During Bad Romance Jeremy, her dancer, was faced kind of toward me and I swear we made eye contact too cause he kept trying to stop laughing or something... I kept making faces at him and I could tell that he was trying to hide the laughs! LOL She talked about Beyonce and the Super Bowl before Telephone, She was praising the Queen! She also talked about Kansas City Ribs which had me DYING! Lol she also tweeted about them Sunday night I believe.. Thought that was pretty cool! After Scheisse, she said "This is the last time I will be something something something... before ARTPOP!" And I DIED. The stage was INCREDIBLE! For once, things didn't seem smaller than they did in videos! The lighting was amazing, and all the props and her outfits! I wasn't too familiar with any of the 2013 tour changes, so I had a good mix of knowing what was going to happen next and surprises. For once I didn't know her speeches word for word so it was kind of interesting to actually listen to them! She was actually pretty funny at times, I was cracking up! And her vocals were 100% flawless! Way better since the Monster Ball! The show ran pretty smoothly too... the only longer-than-I-would've-wanted break/interlude was before the encore! Everything else seemed so nonstop! The length of the concert was a good length. By the time she got to Just Dance I was thinking "Wow it's barely half of the way done!" And by Americano I was thinking "I'm getting tired but I could definitely go for a few more songs!" Then by the encore, "Get the **** on the stage and sing these last two songs so I can leave!" LOL I was pretty tired, it was such a long day but it was beyond worth it! When she called the kid in her Virgin Mobile act, OMG the saddest thing ever. After answering the phone and the usual "OMG I LOVE YOU IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN" yadiyadiyada... The kid goes "I just want you to know, when I go to school and I get called a fag, I just say whatever!" She started crying and went on and on and on about being brave and born this way, and you just had to be there. I feel like I can't do the story justice by trying to retell it.. But it was an incredible moment! It is such a different experience in real life, I can honestly say that was the best night of my life! I know you hear this a lot and probably think it's pretty stupid, but I had never felt so free to just do and act however I wanted. I was just enjoying the music, Gaga's company, the atmosphere, etc. Best night EVER!

Sara 1,128
I've seen her show so many times by now, and the b---h can still make me cry!! She was singing "Born This Way" right to the one guy in the spotlight, and he started crying, and then Gaga started crying, and I started crying!! It was AMAZING!!! She really put a lot of energy into the KC show, as she does all of her shows. I do think she's wearing herself down, but she'll endure just about anything for her fans!! As for Starlight, I've come to like her mask dance, because I like the songs, and she's just being mellow and trippy, but when she pulls out her synthesizer, that's our cue to go get drinks!!! :flop:
EvilChromatica 387
Did the Marry The Night acoustic with the keytar breakdown sound good?

I do think she's wearing herself down, but she'll endure just about anything for her fans!! I do have to add her energy was incredible! She seemed so happy! She didn't seem noticeably tired by the end of the show either... Tho I can see why she changed Marry the Night to a more toned down version... She's always fussing and adjusting things with the show. :hehe:
Sara 1,128
The funniest Starlight comment I've heard was Chica's story that an usher referred to Starlight as "the soundcheck", like her entire act was just there to test the sound system. :dies:

Amazing review, Im glad you had a really wonderful time & the phone call, and the fans response to her is really the soul of what Born This Way is all about. I think in all of the costumes and cultured creativity, it's easy to forget about the inspiring message of what that album represented, and while some people think its campy or cliche, I believe Gaga really has been able to help many young individuals out there, and given them the tools to empower themselves in a soceity that doesnt always accept them. The Starlight part had me crying laughing btw XD
Sara 1,128
Did the Marry The Night acoustic with the keytar breakdown sound good? YES! VERY!! And the youtube video's I'm finding don't do it justice or show the outfits the dancers were wearing. I'm torn, because I LOVE the acoustic version of Marry The Night, and I'd rather she do that version than the normal version, BUT, I wish it was in the middle of the show. I'm not sure you should end a big pop show on a melonchoy note. It would be like Aerosmith ending with "Dream On". That's probably why she changed it a little for KC. This is the UK version I recorded. It's a little more of a traditional show closer:
