It's not fan voted so I don't think Taylor is winning. Shes probably already attending and winning a bunch, so they don't have to give her this. They can use this to bribe Beyonce, Britney, or Gaga into attending. Whoever says yes, is winning this. If none of them agree then maybe they'll just give to Beyonce for clout.

I think it should be the original Like A Virgin performance.  By today's standards it's tame but back in the day that was pretty risqué and jaw dropping.  Plus it's one of the very first performances.  

 

It's 40 years old though so if it's fan voted I'd be surprised to see it even sniff number 1

Probably because she is receiving the Vanguard award the same night. Out of everyone nominated for Most Iconic Performance, she is the one confirmed to attend so it might go to her.

Gaga and Britney/Madonna/Xtina are the only ones who deserve this but honestly, that three way kiss is the most iconic moment. Gaga fans obviously heavily cite the Paparazzi performance as the one that made them a fan but it's truly only us that are aware of it. It feels fitting if the kiss wins as the public at large know of it and it's therefore almost the default, factual choice. It was one of the THE defining pop culture moments of the year.
