TaylorSwift 162,480
The knifeman, who is still on the run, fatally stabbed two men, aged 67 and 56, and a 56-year-old woman and injured eight others in Fronhof central square at around 9.45pm on August 23 at 'Festival of Diversity' to honour Solingen's 650th anniversary. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility on Saturday for a knife attack in the German city of Solingen. Some 24 hours after the attack, police said they made a second arrest on Saturday evening as part of a police operation at a home for refugees in Solingen. Police said they could not provide more details on the individual or its connection to the incident. Police earlier on Saturday detained a teenager who they said may be connected with the attack but said the perpetrator was still at large. Describing the man who carried out the attack as a "soldier of the Islamic State", the militant group said in a statement on its Telegram account: "He carried out the attack in revenge for Muslims in PaIestine and everywhere." https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/german-police-search-assailant-festival-stabbing-that-kills-3-2024-08-24/ https://store.taylorswift.com

Guest
This is horrifying to me. Perhaps one of my biggest fears that is sometimes very actively (always passively) on my mind when I am out at large gatherings.
AsleepOnTheCeiling 6,974
Very tragic. I was just at a similar celebration a few hours away in Germany, and could not imagine that happening here. On one hand I feel like the world will slowly fall into another war, and on another I feel like a lot of this stuff is a way of media fear mongering. Lady Rah Rah 2,013
These monsters mostly always claim responsibility whenever a terrorist attack happens, regardless of whether the perpetrator was actually ever connected to, or part of ISIS. They want to seem like this huge evil powerful threat, to cause fear and panic. Chromatica will live on forever.
TaylorSwift 162,480
A suspect in German police custody is a 26-year-old Syrian man, authorities said on Sunday. German federal prosecutors identified himas Issa Al H., omitting his family name because of German privacy laws, and said he was suspected of being a member of Islamic State. Prosecutors said "due to his radical Islamist convictions" he tried to kill as many people as possible that he considered to be non-believers, stabbing them repeatedly in the neck and upper body. Der Spiegel magazine said the suspect had moved to Germany late in 2022 and sought asylum. The dpa news agency reported that his asylum claim had been denied and that he was due to have been deported last year. reuters https://store.taylorswift.com

He had gone into hiding. An arrest warrant was not issued - apparently because he was considered inconspicuous and there are hardly enough places for deportation anyway. The deportation deadline expired in August and Germany was responsible for his case. At the end of 2023, Germany granted the Syrian subsidiary protection, which refugees from the civil war country often receive. He was transferred to Solingen, where he had been living since September 2023. https://www.spiegel.de/panorama/justiz/solingen-mutmasslicher-attentaeter-sollte-abgeschoben-werden-a-3fc3a14a-1b15-4692-a8fd-102fc929b622 https://store.taylorswift.com
