Thing about Drake is, unless you actively follow his music/genre, you won't know his music. He's one of the most avoidable superstars. There are lots of other people listed lower whose music is widely played and known, even by non-fans. And to rank him this high after everything that's come out is shameful.

So true. Though I'd hazard a guess and say that extends to 20 years or more. It's hard to find a Rihanna fan under the age of 25 and even that's pushing it. She was exclusively aimed at the current youth market her entire career and that generation took her with them as they grew up but the generations that followed lost interest because she was too old in their eyes. Her absence on the charts for nearly 9 years hasn't helped, she's been away as long as Britney's last album. Gen Z and Alpha just know her as The Makeup Lady, meanwhile, they're listening to Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish.

Taylor #1, Bey #2. Congrats to Rih on reaching #3 (although it doesn't "matter," still congrats lol)

I can't imagine a world where Rihanna didn't quit music at this point... 2016 she was at the TOP of her game... work was massive, needed me massive, LOTB was big, etc. Imagine she stayed releasing an album every 1-2 years, gag! Could have double the stats she does now.

Eh not really. Think about it. Crazy in Love is MASSIVE, single ladies MASSIVE,  drunk in love MASSIVE, self titled was a culture shock, so was lemonade. Renaissance tour was everywhere. Then add in the accolades? I think the fact that she plays ball with stars half her age and wins out says a lot. Shes been in the game for 22 years (?) as a solo act and has really only had 1 notable period of less success and that was 4 which still did big numbers (v much her ARTPOP era without the extreme mess). It’d be incorrect to have her anywhere but near the way top she just has defined so much of the 21st century pop landscape.

i think she’ll probably still get #2 to Taylor swift but tbh the facts are there in ways they aren’t for other artists (whom i also like a lot!)

It's unfortunate Taylor Swift will outrank Beyoncé based exclusively on numbers. When it comes to cultural impact, sure, Taylor Swift is more popular now, but in the long run, I think we all know exactly which of the two will have the stronger legacy...
