Girl please. He came up with this idea and worked on it. He's one of the reasons why this movie would be done in the first place. We still don't know the full story to this and I'm certain Warner is not happy with the bad press right before Joker.

This "oh no this will be bad press" thing is not legit. His teams can easily forbid journalists from ever asking questions about this movie during Joker's roll-out.

If he did drop out last minute, it might actually be because they want to avoid the potential "bad press" of starring in this movie in the first place lol. It's one thing to promote a movie that will (be banned in several countries and shunned by a whole swath of audiences for) showing the graphic monstrosity of two naked Hollywood actors playing with each other, he'll also be talked about for not being a gay actor. It might be that the "cold feet" are more related to this.

Joaquin is known as a bit of an oddball but in terms of roles, he hasn't been that adventurous, actually. This would be a huge "risk", as I can imagine his PR people are calling it.
