Please stop spreading fake news. Ask literally and I do mean literally any country in East Asia or Southeastern Asia and they will tell you a litany of horror stories and war crimes that Imperial Japan has committed. I know Adele herself had no clue about this and didn't do it on purpose, but thinking about the design of the interlude itself it doesn't make sense to include that pattern? Everything is ripped newspaper style and there's lyrics representing a news headline, what's the purpose of such pattern there? mmm

Was the show taking place in Korea? Was that particular segment about the show touching on themes of war, genocide and racialized violence? Was there any single piece of evidence that suggests this was meant to be a reference to the symbol of Japan's actions during WWII?

Just because the flag itself is a sensitive subject, doesn't mean I need to tiptoe around people's emotions because they're choosing to see it when it's not there.
