faysalaaa 5,336
But why is he assuming Muslims in Michigan will vote Kamala if they were withholding their votes against Biden? Does anyone have a poll on this?

Does anyone have a poll on this? Harris has positioned herself, however subtly, to the left of Biden on Israel-Gaza. Basically any time she’s spoken about it publicly, she’s called for a ceasefire, did not attend Netanyahu’s address to Congress, and spoke out against Israel’s outsized response to 10/7 on the same day. Does anyone have a poll on this? Michael Moore was born and raised in Michigan. He resides there now still. Additionally, he has been heavily engaged in US politics since Bush’s first administration, so for him to discuss the mindsets of Michigan voters, no doubt it is the result of how much he’s out there and how highly involved he has been with talking to voters for decades now — especially in his home state. Polls are useless, but nonetheless: https://elections2024.thehill.com/michigan/harris-trump-michigan/

MessyTop 14,389
I’m with Michael, Shapiro would be so controversial, sadly I think she’s gonna pick Shapiro and progressives are going to lose their sh$&. the Fact that Pete is gonna get a no is beyond crazy to me. Her choice will have consequences …. We shall see
JoeCool 1,013
Not a Moore fan but I do find him entertaining . That being said he was one of the few people who knew what was happening in 2016…. He predicted Trump was winning. So I do put on my listening ears for what he thinks

But they knew Biden was better than Trump on Palestine, but they still refused to vote Biden. Thats why I think we are making alot of wrong assumptions, which isnt helpful if you want to win. That only really mattered when enthusiasm was down, because people not showing up was a problem, but now it’s more likely that other groups will show up. Youre comparing a mayor to multiple governors… some who have served years in congress, served in the military as soldiers or astronauts, who’ve been properly vetted, and bring state advantages with non urban residents - Pete couldn’t even secure the black vote, he’d literally add nothing to the ticket ☠️ It’s actually crazy how Pete is even in the conversation bc all he’s been recently is a professional yapper on Fox News ☠️

Pete served in the military, Pete was vetted by the WH when appointed secretary and was asked to submit for vetting for this role. So the fact that other candidates have done the same, is kind of irrelevant. "Professional yapper" means he's an effective communicator. Which not all of the other options are - although tbh this is a subjective area. And he's not just a Mayor anymore. He's a Secretary in the Presidential Cabinet, the head of a Statutory department & 14th in the line of succession. That means he has a working relationship with Harris that none of the options had anything comparable. It also means he has direct experience of working at the Presidential level. Lets not belittle a candidate just because they aren't our preferred. The gays know how to party

Thanks for pointing them out, I forgot he was military icon, but I still think Kamala set him up… I’m not sure White House and campaign vetting are the same. I guess I should have said publicly tested… like winning an election to congress or as a governor. and yes professional yapping is important, but his talks miss how he can tie finding solutions to how he’s delivered for the people - which isn’t a big sin but in comparison to Shapiro and Walz kinda doesn’t serve as hard I just read Kamala wanted someone in governing power very early on, and I still think he reads, almost exactly like Kamala, and wouldn’t add any constituency she has locked up… which is such a deal breaker for my hopes. So that’s why I’m surprised that Pete was even in the conversation, but it’s not like he’d tank the ticket like Shapiro would, or someone like Joe Manchin. I think Pete being in conversation speaks to his relationship in the WH with Kamala Harris. And if she wins, I'd be shocked if he doesn't get a cabinet level position, likely a promotion from Transport. I agree though that Pete didn't bring anything to Kamala's potential White House she herself didn't bring. And I also agree with the alleged position of Kamala's inner circle wanting a governer type figure as it's the type of Veep who brings the most benefits to her ticket. I personally hope she goes with Walz. The guy is older (although signifcantly younger than Biden & Trump lol) and hasn't really had presidential ambitions so is unlikely to push for the spot should Harris win 2x and get term locked in 2032. He's also Democratic faction neutral, both sides like him. Perfect pick really. The gays know how to party

I hope he’s put in a position to make a material positive difference in people’s lives - bc one of Hillary’s downfalls was being a ‘deep state actor’ for years and not rising through the power of direct elections. Pete has the chance to fall into the same trap where he fairly/unfairly gets seen as being complicit in the admin’s missteps. Tho roles like transportation secretary are one of the better vibes, and being a public figure on TV will help mitigate against my fears of that But yeah… it has to be Walz. I agree with everything you said, plus he’d lock up PA just like Shapiro would. A journalist has reported that Kamala has already decided, and the running mate has agreed, so we’ll just have to wait until tomorrow 🫡 https://x.com/rooprajfox2/status/1820508852820890018?s=
