I think the issue here is there's too much to cover for a movie. A limited series would've been better IMO.

That's been an issues for every biopics. It's up to the directors to choose which part of the artists or royals life that they want to highlight. When they construct it well, it can be good like I'm Not There, Coal Miner's Daughter, or Sid and Nancy

Agreed. It was very much the broad strokes, but maybe a movie can flesh out certain subtexts that the book can’t?
