Nobody considered the option that Biden might not perform well? And they're only now realizing that they don't like his runner up either? I’m particularly tired of “anonymous inside sources” and wish the news would pause on that. I also wish we would stop conflating social media under “the media.” It isn’t just cnn/fox/msnbc, it’s social media conspiracies /disinformation and trolls/bots too. I genuinely believe the broader society is skirting personal responsibility by lumping fault on “the media.” To a very large degree, this took all of us to happen, but it’s not universally being taken advantage of either. Honestly, I get stuck with it too because irl is not remotely this escalated. I’m having productive conversations about politics across 85% of the spectrum and political ideologies. He saw his bad approval rating, knew he ran as a “transitional” candidate, could feel his own physical and mental decline, and still said, “yeah, I’ll run again.” That effectively discouraged any real candidates from running in the primary to avoid in-house fighting yet here we are. In chaos because the man can’t do a single event without having at least one moment where he has people questioning why he isn’t in a nursing home. I think the more concerning factor is how a man that people believe belongs in a nursing home usher the biggest and quickest economic recovery in history. Attain the lowest unemployment levels since the 70’s. Make the largest infrastructure improvements since the 70’s. Lead us out of a worldwide pandemic. Make the largest improvements and strides in climate change ever. Read the tea leaves better than EU leaders regarding Russia planning on attacking Ukraine. First president in over a decade to prevent congress from shutting the government down. Relieve the most amount of student loan debt than any other president. Implement LGBT protective measures. End the Iraq war. Best performing 1st world nation in GDP growth to inflation. All while working with a tied up congress between republicans and democrats and a corrupt conservative Supreme Court. People need to stop just reading a sensationalist headline and focus on what matters. The most interesting thing I’ve seen recently is that the debate performance and the assassination attempt haven’t moved the polls one bit, they are essentially neck and neck and more crucially, Biden leading the ticket gives the Dems two important keys to the White House, the no contest key and the incumbency key. There’s obviously strong feelings about certain issues but killing your chances by removing Biden would put a firm stop to a lot of the issues that can progress somewhat under another term with Biden, the Dems need to stop arguing and focus on winning this election, the other scenario would be horrendous for us all. Because Biden used her skin color for his own political gain. Period. She remains the only person who can dip into the money that Biden has raised. And no other Democrat has the balls to step up. So what the hell are we arguing about? Biden needs to step down, and everyone needs to support Kamala. edit: AOC’s point about the legal challenges is real though. Republicans are going to challenge the legitimacy of a Kamala Harris candidacy. Democratic legal experts should be preparing for that and AOC is saying that they’re not.
