Harris is the only option otherwise the Dems lose the Incumbency key from Professor Lichtman’s model. I think people ought to focus on that more than the polls, we are 4-5 months out and the Dems panicking isn’t helping anything. They need to keep strong and be defiant because at the moment they are setting fire to any potential of re-election.

I will support and vote for whoever is on the Democratic ticket, but Dems desperately need to get their act together. If they replace Biden, they need to work 10x harder to push forward whoever the new nominee is (probably Kamala). They need to get her out, have her do more interviews, have strong and consistent messaging that is beyond "At least we're not Donald Trump," have her participate in debates, pick an equally strong VP, etc., etc., etc. Even though we're still months out from the election, a campaign takes time. Suddenly switching your nominee—who is an incumbent president—will not be easy and in fact, I think will be harder than if Biden were to just run as the candidate.

Wait, so does Biden have to quit the presidency altogether for Dems to keep the incumbency key?? I can see him dropping from the race, but quitting the presidency seems far less likely (Though he should, if it's for the greater good, besides his term is almost done anyways).
