I still wish her the best and I'm just gonna pretend Never Really Over is the last thing I have heard from her. Hoping there are gems in 143, but oh god, the description of the album from the store isn't giving me much encouragement. It really sucks because she had a lot of goodwill from people hoping that she'd put out something good, or at least better than her last 2 projects, and she pissed it all away by working with that pig. I've never been a huge fan of hers, but this whole saga has really solidified in my mind that she's just not capable of doing better. She was never an ally for women or LGTBTQ+, hence is why the vibe is always off and super cringe from her. Just like the song, the music video is too disrespectful and degrading to be called anthem for women empowerment. That plus the crave people have again for that kind of pop music... everybody was just ready to give her a hit and root for her, I have no doubt this could have been the esiest nr. 1 single of her career. The biggest fumble possible, she will NEVER get an opportunity like this ever again, it’s really over for her... it’s sad but she really did do this to herself. Never Really Over is one of her best singles ever, THAT was the comeback of a lifetime for her, it even did decent on streaming and charts too bad she didn’t go all in promoting the song, I feel like it had to potential to be a top5 hit. But her team was a mess, they wanted instant success, the moment they saw it didn’t debut at nr. 1 or whatever, they ditched it an pushed another single with a different vibe. That era was such a mess for her, she didn’t grind to make any of those songs a hit, she just put them out an expect one to stick.
