I really like Dua and I usually dislike everybody not named Gaga.         

Feels like Radical Optimism didn't get much traction because of lacking singles mb? Still like the album though and think it deserves better.

I think it’s the weakest single from RO, Houdini and Training Season deserved to be radio hits

I like Houdini better than Illusion but Illusion is >>>> than everything else on that album. This was just an era I couldn't connect with and I suspect a lot of the charting struggles is with her team's marketing strategy this cycle. I don't think waiting 6 months to drop the album post lead single helped because by that time it seemed everyone else was getting ready to drop full releases while she was still on Training Season.

I think if she surprise dropped it or dropped it like Billie did with no lead singles, people would connect with the album better, appreciate it more as the great body of work it is.

Right it's by no means a bad album. I did enjoy my few times listening through it. Just not something I have on repeat right now.

Glad Illusion is getting more popular, I think it's a great and catchy song. As always Dua is about longevity, not instant #1

I’d agree but she hasn’t been performing it live.  IMO singles should have been Houdini (with some epic live performances), Illusion, Falling Forever, and then Training Season.  Maybe Maria or These Walls as a promo.

It's a nice album but I wish her and her team would not have spoken about it that much to try to tease it. Those interviews with "changing the landscape of pop music", "departure sound", "shocking new hair look". Like a lot of these things were leading to something completely different. She also released Houdini way too early when Dance The Night was still going around. She should've just used the Grammys performance to debut the lead single and maybe the album in April with Training Season around that time but still, there was no way to know the singles would underperform. As long as tickets sell she's going to be fine.
