For Nicki to claim that security is getting paid off to sabotage her tour really shows how celebrities live on a different planet to the rest of us. Airport security's aim is to make sure no one leaves the country with anything majorly, obviously illegal (drugs, weapons, explosives, etc). It doesn't matter if any of that stuff is legal in their country, they have to make sure you don't take it into someone else's country, or the airline that allowed you to travel with this stuff on your person will be taken to task. She's flying to the UK, where recreational weed is illegal so of course they couldn't let her leave Amsterdam with it regardless of their local laws. This is like saying "Just leaving America for the UK but they confiscated my gun at the airport even though guns are legal here."

And while penalties for carrying weed may be excessive, isn't it not a good thing that celebrities are held to the same standard as the rest of us mere mortals when we go on a plane? Many people fly private so no one checks their bags just so they can smuggle drugs after all. It's crazy how celebrities are clearly getting publicly high all over the place and are hardly ever taken to task for it, even when it's highly likely they illegally transported drugs to another country or were even high on the flight.

Usually I agree with you but common sense dictates that just because you legally purchased it in one country does not mean that you can transport it across borders into another. I believe weed ought to be legal everywhere, but even in places where it is, transporting it from country to country even on your own person probably is always going to be frowned upon just as transporting a firearm is. At the end of the day, even if its legal, it will be a regulated substance and regulations will vary from place to place.

I’ve been to Amsterdam (specifically to frolic through the red light district) and you have to WERK to get arrested for ****ing weed. I mean damn she has a huge entourage there is no reason for her to be personally taking that risk with airport security.
