I don’t know where you are from, I also don’t wanna start an argument. I just want to clarify and add something.

German is my native language and I am from Austria, which is where Hitler was born and grew up.

While it is true that Reich translates to „realm“, it is still extremely negatively connoted and associated with the Nazi regime if used in certain - especially political - contexts. Even in Austria, which in German is called Österreich (Öster-Reich) and translates to Eastern Realm.

no one uses the word „Reich“ in Germany or German speaking countries other than in the context of NS rhetoric/historical context or housewives showing their new furnished kitchen on national tv saying „und das ist mein ganz persönliches kleines Reich. hihi“

I sincerely apologise for not making myself more clear. 

My point is exactly that - his use of the word cannot be interpreted in any way other than a direct reference to the Nazi regime.

It's clear to me that he is now shamelessly and conspicuously capitalising on the hatred his followers express for minorities and oppressed groups and, no doubt, intends on using this propaganda to radicalise them into further insurrection should he lose the presidential race.

These are scary times, and I apologise for taking for granted that you would assume what I meant.

I'm not. This is what despots do.

He's testing to see how much he can get away with.

If the USA doesn't hold him accountable for this propaganda, and he wins, he will feel quite within his rights to turn to the American people and say, "You can't say I didn't warn you. I was clear about what kind of society I wanted to make. I was honest about my intentions, and you let me win."

He needs to be stopped now before he gets away with using that word, because if he wins based on this kind of language, I truly fear for every American's future.

I'm in the UK so I have no voting power. 

But please know, the vast majority of the UK and Europe are watching this play out, hoping and praying that Americans don't ignore the warning signs.

Neither am I. There's one thing people have to understand about Trump is that he is being "honest", meaning he has no filter, he speaks his own raw mind. If he thinks that any reference to a Nazi Reich is cool enough, he will say it bluntly, without calculating the eventual consequences, negative or positives, following that kind of statement.
