Interesting background info: This ESC was special because four German-speaking countries (Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Luxemburg [in Luxemburg they speak Luxemburgish which is very close to German and their media and education language is in High German, too]) were performing on stage, which is very rare and I think the first time in the 21st century. Imo, every second ESC the official pesenting languages of ESC should be English+German and the other second English+French. It is also interesting because after Düsseldorf and Vienna, now (most likely) a German-speaking Swiss city will host it, now with Switzerland each of the three bigger German-speaking countries has won the ESC in this century. We're waiting for Liechtenstein to make it five @FfFfFfFF you are no more here, but I still continue to believe that it is better for a language group not to be united in one single big country but rather spread out in several countries because it gives additional power to the cultural sphere of the language, owing to the independence and alternative structures to choose from.
