I actually think it's quite smart and strategic - the Ball and the whole Chromatica era focuses on darkness and making light out of dark. To have this energy and hype for this subject matter and material before Joker is interesting because in a sense, it sets the stage. For me... it hypes me up for the Joker film even more.
