Dennis 8,391
In what potentially could be a bright spot for Biden, it seems that the college protestors may be a very vocal minority, in a demographic he desperately needs to be able to beat Trump. College protests against Israel's war in Gaza are dominating headlines. But only a sliver of students are participating or view it as a top issue, according to a new Generation Lab survey shared exclusively with Axios. By the numbers: Only a small minority (8%) of college students have participated in either side of the protests, the survey of 1,250 college students found. Students ranked the conflict in the Middle East as the least important issue facing them out of nine options. A large majority (81%) of students support holding protesters accountable, agreeing with the notion that those who destroyed property or vandalized or illegally occupied buildings should be held responsible by their university, per the survey. Methodology: This study was conducted May 3-6 from a representative sample of n=1,250 students nationwide from 2-year and 4-year schools. https://www.axios.com/2024/05/07/poll-students-israel-hamas-protests
Ladle Ghoulash 52,657
In all fairness, Biden also isn’t particularly good on most of these top ticket concerns, so I’m not sure that this is a bright spot lolol We have forgotten our public MANNERS

PartySick 172,486
Wbk Gaza, and by extension these protests, aren't make or break for Biden Not to be all "'Murica first" but Americans have bills to pay at home. Any voter who isn't favoring domestic issues for their leader is kinda weird imo. It's great to be passionate about foreign affairs, especially as an American since our government has our noses in everyone's business, but yeah. Here's hoping his forgiveness of student loans, expansion and empowerment of medicare and the ACA, investment into infrastructure, pro-union and employee attitude and policies, well funded IRS targeting billionaires for withheld taxes, and economic recovery are all enough to sway voters away from the anti-American felon promising to upend our very way of life and who takes pride in setting worker's rights, women's rights, and queer rights back by decades all while threatening and sometimes delivering violence when he doesn't get his way Biden's been a good president if you ask me. PartySick 172,486
Also, this poll specifically should be good news for Democrats in general. Dems delivered the ACA, gave Medicare the ability to negotiate some prescription drugs costs, and capped insulin at $35 while Republicans have done f*ck all but tried to undo it. Dems have consistently fought to make college more affordable, even introducing policies to allow people to attend the first 2 or 4 years of college (and therefore an AA, AS, or bachelor's degree) completely state funded. In addition, Biden's forgiven millions' student loan debts. Meanwhile, Republicans attack everything from public colleges to primary schools, threatening teachers' jobs for being too queer friendly, and threatening schools' funding. They've even pushed to abolish the department of education. Dems have consistently fought for and passed social safety nets to make sure when people fall on hard times, they at least aren't starving. Biden specifically made economic equity a centerpiece of his campaign and presidency. Meanwhile, Trump's biggest accomplishment was handing the richest people a 1.5 TRILLION dollar tax cut and he spends his fundraisers telling rich friends how much richer they'll get. Racial justice? Do I even need to elaborate on the difference between Dems and Reps here? everything from Muslim travel bans to BLM rallies to literal laws being passed. Reps are trash. DeSantis deadass banned math books in my state because they were "too woke". Climate change? Again, do I need to elaborate It seems most Republicans don't believe in climate change, they don't think it's an issue, or they know it's an issue but they're more concerned with profits so they lift every regulation they can when they get the chance. Gun control? For the third time, do I need to elaborate?! the Reps literally wore AR-15 lapel pins to congress days after a school was shot up and kids had to be identified by their shoes because their bodies were so thoroughly destroyed. F*ck those people. Whimsical bitch

Yea the question is, what percentage of the population do those represent? And would they still have abandoned Biden even without the Gaza war? I think so. I used to watch Hasanabi for example and his community constantly complained about Biden even before Oct. 7th. So far polling suggests people who are going to boycott Biden on this issue are a very small albeit vocal minority. But in tight elections, even 10k voters can make a difference in a state. YourEvilTwin 1,384
8% sounds like a big ****ing deal for all the swing states he has to win, but it's your prerogative to enjoy the copium while it lasts.

Not the entire population. We're only talking college students. Also there may be many people who participated in the protests but will still vote for Biden. But yes theoritically, even 1,000 voters in a state can make a difference.
Ziggy 14,020
But the elephant in the room is enthusiasm to vote. Thats the Biden issue. He has successes. He has failures. The issue for him is that he needs to get young people out to vote, which is looking kinda dim protests aside. Not even a boycott vote but more of a “can’t be bothered” boat. They neeed to make people want to get out and vote when young people rn don’t really want to do anything bc ****’s hard rn lmao and he absolutely needs young voters

F*ck those people. Those protesters don’t care about any of this. They don’t care that life would become significantly worse for POC, immigrants, poor people under another Trump mandate. A lot of them are privileged trust fund kids who won’t be affected by Trump. Bottom line is they are basically single-issue voters. All they care about right now is Palestine, even though most of them probably couldn’t locate it in a map a few months ago.

Not shading anyone, but from the same poll 35% of the people who supported the slogan "from the river to the sea" couldn't tell which sea it was lmao when given 5 different options. But yeah Americans in general suck at geography and knowing enough about the rest of the world
