Literally no one even comes close this amount of star power. Like, no one alive or dead. It doesn't really matter how many tickets they sell or how much money they earn.

Though I do think the comparison is a bit... catty. Then again, Br*t*sh people I guess :poot:

I do like Taylor but I can see how people are getting bored with her as well. Especially with this last album tbh.

I’m really not getting this whole thread… First of all why are we comparing Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift like- :saladga:  they’re entirely different artists in entirely different times.  :triggered:  That being said y’all are so weird for hating on her ‘because her music isn’t like / as good as Michael Jackson’s’??? What? Looking at the charts in the past 2-3 years have you seen ANYONE that comes close to Michael? No. Why jump on a hate train for T Swift when it’s been KNOWN for a while her chart success’s mostly based on her fanbase? This time around y’all too, I’ve seen posts over all social medias of haters decoding lyrics just to **** on them, listening to the whole album- Well she’s popular and has a massive fanbase, of course she’ll do massive numbers, esp when she has you on her d**k.

edit : also, i’m not promoting toxic swiftie behaviour, i know some of her fanbase’s wild but if someone wronged you direct your opinions to them personally, not the person they like- it’s common sense, every fanbase has toxic people in it, it’s just that there’s a lot of swifties => bigger number of toxic ones

I may agree with his opinion and all but it really makes him sound out of touch to say that none of her songs have been or will be remembered. Like them or hate them, Love Story, Shake It Off, Blank Space, Look What You Made Me Do and Anti-Hero are probably her most memorable songs, even people who don't like or listen to Taylor are aware of most or some of them. However, older people who only listen to old music and people who don't listen to current music/the radio/watch much tv/hang around online will be unaware of them. And unfortunately, people who fall into these categories seem to think they have a monopoly over the relevancy and legacy of artists. Most of the world doesn't have a music lens as limited as yours and just because you haven't heard of these songs doesn't mean millions of others haven't. And to compare a track to someone else's is odd as they weren't trying to create the track you were comparing it to. Every time a new name rises up the ranks to become one of the biggest names on the planet, there's always an old timer naysaying them. I just wish they realised they're looking just like their grandfathers did when they asked why the youth were listening to The Beatles and The Rolling Stones when Elvis and Sinatra were clearly top tier. Every generation has its stars and this is ours. You can say what you like about them but they've clearly influenced enough people that you shouldn't question it

Lawwwt of truth in there I think. I don't rate Taylor's music, but that's just my opinion, and what Neil says is also just opinion. You do reach an age where you get out of touch. Neil was young once and so was I, but neither of us know what it's like to be young in 2024 and to have Taylor's songs as the backdrop to our youth. Her art is as valid and as relevant now as MJ's or Madonna's or Paul McCartneys's or anyone's in their day. The Swifties will get older too and will end up dissing 'that rubbish that the kids listen to these days'.
