Just wanna make sure you understand your comment was removed because your response to Iran's then-imminent attack on Israel was "it's what she deserves".

Literally every mod here is pro-Palestine or not informed enough to have an opinion beyond "they should work towards peace" but your response to that post being removed was to call us zionists which is beyond ridiculous.

It's because since October of last year, being anti-Israel has been equated to being antisemitic by people who want to detract from others who point out Israel's crimes against the people of Palestine.

Accusations of antisemitism are often made in bad faith and used as weapons to invalidate criticism towards Israel to the point that many in the pro-Palestine crowd roll their eyes at it now. Not because they don't recognize that hating jews is bad, but because they've been accused of hating jews often simply because they want the mindless genocide to stop.

Speaking of which, the guy you've been criticized for platforming here is one of those "anti-Israel = anti-Jew" types. You should reconsider using anything from him in future discussions.

I mean I understand you explaining their flawed logic as to why they roll their eyes. But they're still wrong to roll their eyes.

As others have pointed out we shouldn't overly politicize evidence if it's accurate.

But if it bothers you so much, if you have the same video posted by a leftist source, please share, and i'll replace it.

So if Libsoftiktok posts a video we support, we should go ahead and lift her up? I don't think so.

I don't have to post a video from a leftist source because I don't have a problem with right wing sources if they're legit and also because the other videos you posted show the same exact thing. Which makes the inclusion of Andy extra crazy.

My problem at this point is you and others trying to turn my post into something it's not. It's not political. It's not anti-Israel or antisemitic. It's not pro-those specific protestors. It's about using important issues to platform people who are on-the-book paid bad-faith actors.

My comment was deleted too. I feel like we should just ban this topic on Gaga Daily. What does this have to do with Gaga?

It's obvious within this community there are strongly opposed sides to this humanitarian issue. We should just leave this topic for other places

How weird would it be to think: "My comment got deleted. Something I wrote must have been wrong or inappropriate."

But no, "My comment got deleted. Nobody should be allowed to talk about this topic anymore." is much more self reflective. Bravo!

I've read your comment and fail to understand how you think belittling one minority's struggle is ok because some government is harming another minority. Israel's government does not represent the entirety of Jews. Spreading this kind of ignorance is harmful.

Yeah, the bad faith accusations of antisemitism have really poisoned the well here. Simultaneously, tho, the fact that there are some who are pro-Palestine who feel the need to defensively excuse antisemitism is also super problematic. Threading the needle on this one is tricky because a lot of Zionists have created this rhetorical trap that all antizionism is intrinsically antisemitic, then utilize antisemitic factions and anecdotes within the pro-Palestine movement to vindicate that association (which ofc only fuels pro-Palestinian partisan solidarity to reject any accusations of antisemitism, even if they’re valid/well-founded).

Well, they roll their eyes at the narrative it spins because their stances will absolutely be associated with the hateful idiots in the OP.

On general, simple statements, every single person here can agree "antisemitism is wrong".

But being told that while Israel drops bombs on refugee camps and displaces and starves nearly two million people invokes some of the same emotions as being asked to "define a woman" when talking about trans rights or being asked "do white lives matter too?" when discussing racial justice. Just to an extreme level.

My point isn't coming across very well (damn migraine) but you're not stupid, I'm sure you know what I mean.

Antisemitism is used far too often as an allegation to dismiss people with genuinely good intentions. Of course they're frustrated.

Ethnoreligious colonizers are practicing ethnic cleansing against Palestinians. Your opinion is not automatically correct just because you are calling antisemitism.

Why is it so hard for pro-Palestinian supporters to condemn Hamas and the terrorist attack of October 7 and acknowledge antisemitism?

I think his frustration is maybe that the actual antisemitism in the video goes unacknowledged, and he's wondering why that degree of hate for you takes second place to an off-topic point about somebody's position on the spectrum. if something is verifiably true, and there is no reasonable trigger to doubt its authenticity/integity, criteria in my opinion which that video meets, then it doesn't matter who it was posted by or what their other opinions are - what matters most is the content? I'm not tryna be toxic or anything though, just advancing the discussion :cryga::heart:

I hear you, but *at least on my end* the hate took first place which is why my first sentence was speaking out against the antisemitism without any "but"'s.

The event is verifiably true and has plenty of other sources to see that for ourselves, so I pointed out that a known liar and grifter was included as a source. It discredits the point he's making. It's like including a quote from Michael Vick in a dog-training manual or adding a national inquirer article into a discussion on government secrets. That's why it's worth bringing up even if that specific instance is benign.

That's why polarizing issues like this just get more and more polarized.

Not to "both sides" it, but...both sides need to reevaluate a little. Maybe not on their core messaging (unless they're pro-IDF 'cause wtf but nobody here is, to my knowledge) but on satellite stances and chosen methods of expressing their thoughts, absolutely.

i really doubt reposting someone's tweet on gagadaily is going to boost them in anyway

like what platform are u talking about?

this is not Gaga posting

this is a small forum and no one is probably even clicking to see the original tweet or the account anyways

That's one possible effect of it. Another is simply giving the man clicks and views. Another is legitimizing his name as credible. Another is the fact that including him in a thread about something as serious as the antisemitism can be used as ammo for others to point to his inclusion and say this whole thing is a scam because Andy is known to be a scammer.

Not dignifying this with a thoughtful response. It should be obvious how reposting shills as legit news sources lifts them up.

I've already made my point and I'm not going around in circles anymore to try and explain further why bringing attention to actively bad people is bad and hurts your cause to people that don't want to hear it.

Back to the program: Antisemitism is bad.

And imagine how nice it'd be, for the people who are afraid that their stances would be associated with the hateful idiots in the OP, to immediately counter that and be the first to disavow/condemn this behavior, that'd be quite powerful and more effective.

But I understand you're talking about others and you can't control how they react.

Well, I mean, the first person you challenged in this thread said "antisemitism is wrong" before expanding on their opinion of the general situation so...it goes both ways

What Israel has done to Palestinians in the last 100 years is far far worse than one day of retaliation. The same way you're calling me antisemitic, I can say you're anti-Palestinian. (I'm not antisemitic -- I'm anti Zionist). Your opinion is not automatically the correct one

Judaism is a religion of peace and love, Israel is a far right ethnoreligious state killing off the people who were there before them so they can have their land. The country and the religion are not the same. There are many many anti Zionist Jews (whom I have many who I am proud to call my friend).

Calling antisemitism on people advocating for the end of merciless killing of innocent people is just you deflecting from the fact that you support the genocide
